Since the other thread has been closed thanks to some childish behavior, i'm going to start a new one concerning MGSO and the whole Konami Id debacle.

I just got my konami id there using the instructions in the other thread link here

anyone else had any luck??

if you try to use the id with mgso i keep getting "can't connect to server" anyone else getting this?

got two Konami ID's , one for my son and one for myself today following weeder's firefox tip .

Yeah, I get this too (I luckily got my Konami ID this morning, having disabled images in Firefox). I presume it'll remain unable to connect to server until Monday.

At least, assuming their servers will work on Monday...

After you enter the date of birth on the first part of registration on Konami ID i just keep getting this

Have you tried the link in the original post?

I just persevered and got it today, but I did disable images on Firefox (trying IE and Safari too to no avail, and the AutoFormer refused to work)

Last night after I updated via P2P ,the konami registration screen came up straight away.

This morning when I had time it wouldn't even load.

Maybe trying it late at night will help.

It wouldn't surprise me!

Just tried getting the id again and it worked first time.:)
Hopefully all will go well on monday!

Did anyone, try to login on the in game screen, I got unable to connect to server. Yes I know the servers are probably not on, but I just want a second opinion just incase there is something wrong.

Happened to me. I don't think that it's a problem though.

it says somewhere that you can't acutally login till monday. can't remember if i saw it on a news site or the game itself tho.

no offline play whatsoever, or even LAN ames. online only. maybe the full game will be different. there's a lot to be said for a 4 player a$$ kicking session with your mates.

anyway, thanks again to weeder for his firefox advice, I got my ID. still a little peeved at having to jump through so many hoops and that we can't just use our existing psn id's for the game, or even that our konami id's and game id's have to be different. kinda annoying imho but maybe the final release will be easier. tis a beta afterall.

By agreeing to the "Terms and Conditions for Use of KONAMI ID Online Payment", you will be able to purchase online monthly tickets rights, etc. with your credit card.

ok theirs a weirdness now. i got my id yesterday, (thanks to the tip on mozzilla firefox) and it said i had 72 hours to accept the email. the site was so slow last night that it wouldnt register when i agreed to the payment schemes. credit cards and such, now this morning when i tried to accept it, it gave a warning saing that the security certificate is false or something. does anybody have any more info? or experienced this problem?

konami id will be used for other things also, its agreeing that you CAN put in your info to buy stuff, other products and whatnot, also the servers will be online for 11 tonight and i will be part of the few million that bring them down within minutes!

I got the impression when I registered today ,that I was agreeing to payment terms aswell.
I wasn't asked for my credit card details ,but I definetly felt the registration was about money.

Ha by the looks of things youll be lucky to get online and that there will be a friends lobby system! How would you meet up with friends through a PSN id? cause they made us sign up for a damn konami id

Metal Gear Online Premiere Beta will be available as a free download on the PLAYSTATION® Store from April 17th (12:00 CEST) until May 6th (10:00 CEST).

The beta phase features two maps, four gameplay modes, the SOP System that encourages up to 16 players to team up and share information, and deep skill-customization. Also equipped with auto-matching and training modes, the game offers players a sneak peak of this totally new approach to console-based competitive gaming.

The Premiere Beta of Metal Gear Online starts on April 21st (00:00 CEST) and ends on May 6th (24:00 CEST).

Metal Gear Online will be included with Metal Gear Solid 4, which will be released on June 12, 2008.

Finally got my ID just there. Thanks to that firefox tip. Still took about half an hour of trying though!

And this time it accepted IDs that it regected a few days ago.

Now to download the bloody thing!

also, if you want to speed it up further, once you're past the main page go to "edit > preferences > content" and take the tick out of the "load images automatically" box to stop it from loading images which should (hopefully) speed it up further.

that weirdness i mentioned earlier is finito! it musta been a glithc, im still trying to accept the terms though. i hope to god this comes online in ireland at 11. i cant wait till 12. my heart will explode. my name si overtoned freq for anyone who wants a game. bring on the awesome!

mgo1 was laggy at times too but they were kinda using mgo1 as a test to see would there be any sort of demand for a proper mgo it was full of exploits
