I got one of these as part of a rubber weights set i bought from someone on adverts.ie.

To be honest i'm struggling to see the point in one of them.

Anyone have opinions on these bars, or recommended exercises that they are kick ass at?

Its the bar behind the bench in the "I don't know wtf to do with it" position.

I think it's also known as a trap bar. Deadlifts, shrugs, farmers walk type things. It could be good for a bit of variation but I wouldn't consider it an essential item.

Maybe you could somehow hook it up high on your rack or hanging from the ceiling and use it for parallel grip pull ups.

    edit - nice poster.

I've never used one - only ever seen em on youtube in fact! - but I always thought they looked like they'd make keeping your form correct easier?

Maybe not, but I would bet I could deadlift more in one of these

you probably could Whip It! I've never used one, even tho we have one in Hercs. But I think it mimics a half squat and the extra quad involvement leads to more weight...

ive used one for deadlifts and it felt like a deadlift but with more quad involvment
