Thinking of getting a personal trainer

I had my first child 3 years ago, and never lost the excess weight I put on, over 3 stone. Any attempts I've made seem to fail, through injury, lack of motivation, the whole stopping, starting again thing etc.
I'm wondering now would it be worth my while getting a personal trainer, to help motivate, help me lose weight especially around my stomach, and generally steer me in the right direction.
Does anyone use, a personal trainer? Has it worked for you, what is the cost, etc. Any info appreciated.

From what I know PTs cost between 60 to 100 euro an hour.

I had a personal trainer (Evil Ann :D) for almost a year and thought she was excellent. I only stopped using her because the company that she ran got too popular in the local Jackie Skelly's and they asked them to cut down their hours in there to give their own PT's a bit of a chance

I would recommend them in a heartbeat ~ not sure if I can give contact details on here but if you want them PM me.

I have lost 13 stone in the last 2 years and was dedicated in the gym but it was great having someone to really point you in the right direction and make sure you were working more than at the capacity that you think you can IYSWIM.

She also gave me general information about training and diet and all as well as stuff to do on the days that I didn't see her. It cost €30 for half hour and you could book as many or as few sessions as you liked ~ think the first session was free actually....

It's definately a good idea. I have one every now and again. My experience with them is this, they act as your motivation. So while doing an exercise, if you were on your own you might stop at 10 reps where as they will make you do 12. What I found hard is to do that on my own, but i'm getting there. A personal trainer will show you what you can actually do. I say go for it, as long as you can keep it up you won't regret it.
