One that would actually fit into the team right now, for me it has to be John Barnes.

As soon as i saw this i thought Dalgleish. fcuking unbelievable player.

Notable mentions would also go to Ian Rush, John Barnes and Graeme Souness.

    As a Newcastle fan:

David Batty. Phenomenal ball winner and the type of player you need to make an attacking team work. We'll need someone like him for next season.

If it wasn't a player based on who we presently need, then Peter Beardsley. An absolute joy to watch, and nothing better than seeing a local lad who loves to wear the black and white.

Rossi I stand by as a cracking player, have a look at how he is doing in Spain. Jones I got wrong :)

Anyway, can I say a younger Paul Scholes? He's fantastic now, but I'd love another 10 years out of him.

    If not, Best :P

Albertini, because I reckon the was the arch typical deep play maker (pirlo posistion) and I love him so I do.

I also wish that Maldini and Costacurta were ten years younger and the best CB pairing in the world again... Oh how I miss the milan of the 90's.

Zoro, I miss him too, and Massaro and the Seba Rossi (most insane goal keeper EVER, was a ****ing crime he never got an Italian cap, he was far better than the other two plebs!).

My sarcasm detector seems to be acting up. You actually being serious?

If so, have you seen Abbiati playing this year? He's absolutely atrocious; easily the dodgiest keeper in La Liga. I don't kow how Leo Franco isn't back in that team.

That was the first name that popped into my head, just because he was such a fan favorite. But from a quality perspective McGrath or Yorke

I'm a Liverpool fan and since the usual suspects of Rush, Dalglish and Barnes have been mentioned, I'm going to go for the Robbie Fowler of 1997-1998. I would then give him strict instructions to avoid Thomas Mhyre in the Merseyside derby. That way his initial knee ligament injury would never happen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,267 ✭✭✭Exit

I would go with Owen over Fowler. I'm still saddened that he left.
