So The Sun have finally got the chance to crap out of them about the incident involving three males and a female, bla bla bla, according to them it is now spreading like wildfire, bit slow on the uptake are they not?

Has anyone here not seen it, or know of it?

Telephone recording doing the rounds of a teenage girl having (consensual) sex with three teenage males in Poppintree Park.

EDIT: I see what you mean now Mairt. The incident is alleged to have occurred last summer but presumably the OP is annoyed that The Sun seem to think it's breaking news!

I have never heard of it? Is it up on the internet anywhere?

I had to laugh at The Sun's frontpage yesterday - you'd have thought it was a video of a rape by the way they were going on about it ("disgusting", "sickening", "twisted" etc.)

Once I cut through all the moral brow-beating the only thing I could see that made the recorded act legally questionable was the fact that it took place in public. But given that The Sun only mentioned that towards the end of the piece that clearly wasn't what they had an issue with.

They took their time to suggest it seemed consentual and to suggest the participants looked over age, which are really the only important points as it's the difference between a story and whole lot of nothing.

The fact that it's a really old clip, as suggested here, makes me laugh even more.

To add: The girl was on the cover as a 'girl', but the boys were 'teenagers'. And it hinted at it being drug fuelled, putting the drug's name in bold and up caps, but had nothing to back this claim.

Ha - I remember that now that you mention it.

The line was something like "The sick threesome - probably fuelled by COCAINE - was recorded by..."; I figure they knew this was drug fuelled as much as they knew who the people in the clip were!

Isn't it sad that the media can speculate about cocaine by teenagers in Ballymun, but will delicately tip toe around the Junkie K.F.'s death and its cause.

Well, in fairness, that is because the Ballymun teenagers haven't been identified wheras KF has.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 196 ✭✭Clink

And because a bunch of unknown Ballymun teenagers are less likely to sue the paper.

    "in fairness", what 'fairness?.

It annoys me that we still pussy foot around Miss French and her addiction to drugs and its 'fair' to make assumptions on the people of Ballymun and places like it.

Fact; I grew up in Ballymun, my family still lives there. I wouldn't know cocaine or heroine (can't even spell the damn words, lol) if they jumped up an kicked me in the ballox. And I know not one member of my family would either.

Anyway Wishbone sorry if I sound annoyed at you, I'm not. This is just an issue which really wobbles my tits.

Dito... Your right Mairt, Its about time that people grew out of such stereotypes. I grew up in ballymun myself and my family are still there. It's unfair that people still receive different reactions based upon class, especially in this day an age.

However, wheter or not drugs were involved in the said inccident is irrelivant. The video is just plain crude... Yet i can't help but feel it would be taking more seriously if the young people invoved where from Dalkey, malahide, Kiliney etc.

I'm sure her family could though.

The whole thing is such a ricidulous thing to have as major news in your paper. Teenagers in Ballymun have sex, so what teenagers everywhere have sex, so we'll throw in the word "cocaine" with the emphasis on Ballymun and try to make it into a story, no-one will ever be able to prove otherwise. Ridiculous.

That it happened in Ballymun isn't really relevant. The Sun would have had greater glee if it occurred in Foxrock.

Printing an allegation against a group of teenagers is completely different from doing so against a named individual.
I now have a rather unfortunate mental image in my head and it's not of yer wan and her boyfriends!

the majority of Ballymun people are decent, honest people but there is an undercurrent of scum that tarnish the area.
