Im sure this question has been asked a million times before. But wondering how many cals a day I should be eating to loose fat ? At present I am trying to follow a high protein ,fat & low carb diet. I train hard 6 times a week 3 weight training days with 20 mins cardio / 3 cardio days. Just wondering what calories should I be having? Im female , age 25, 5'6, 138lb/ 9stone 12lb. Have never really calorie counted dont want to be undereating or overeating !!

As a very rough guide, I reckon that around 13 calories per pound of bodyweight is maintenance for someone who had a desk job, but who works out regularly. If you have an active job or lifestyle, or are breastfeeding, then it's higher. If you are older, or very fat, it may be lower.

To lose weight, I'd reduce maintenance calories by 10% and start there.

Check out g'ems post. This really helped me a lot. A digital food scales (about 20 euro in argos) can really help too.
