Or failing him, the nerds. So nerds, anyone got any tips for increasing tendon strength, specifically the ones on the tris inserting at the elbows. Obbviously I am not looking for medical advice etc.

I can tell you what NOT to do... Skull crushers.

I've always found Tate Presses hit the tri's really hard at the elbow. In a good way tho.

Cheers. Do you reckon they'll beef up the tendons?

Also, to everyone. Anybody have any tips on how to beat tendonitis? Not medical advice, just anecdotal evidence. Ya know, what worked for y'all last time you got it. Natch.

Fish Oil helps, as does a joint support formula from Nutriplex.

With regard to skull-crushers i know people who can do them with impunity, i'm more like Hanley and they rip up my elbows. Tate Press suit me perfectly as well.

Maybe try experiment with the excercises you are including to find the ones that are killing ya?

Ah i suffer/suffered alot with it in the left elbow, and now right elbow aswell!
But i found the best way is glucossamine & chrondroitin along with fish oils. Combine that with laying off the exercise that makes it act up. I had it bad during dips, most tricep work and even dumbell chest pressing. It comes and goes alot though. I also find by simply stopping the pressing just before lockout really helps ease the pain during the movement but thats just me

Yeah, it's nothing specific, I just tend to get very strong, very quickly and my tendons get left behind. I've read that doing close grip benches but just working at the top 6-8 inches, just before lockout is very good, and also the bottom 6-8 inches. Haven't tried yet but will this week.

Well considering I tore my tricep right at my elbows doing them last July, yes I do think they'll wreck the tendons!!

I have told you already dave, stop calling me god.
Anyway I have some cissus rx coming in my next order, seems to get really good real world reviews. It rebuilds and strengthens tendons and ligaments rather than lubricating them. I will actually give yourself and hanley a bottle between you to try and report back on if you both want?

Interesting - I presume it's based around the herb 'cissus quadrangularis'? If it is then that stuff is ****in' magic for healing up joints. Sprain a finger/toe? No problem, take your CQ and you're right as rain in a day or two. Unbelievable stuff.

Yup thats the stuff, it is getting really good real world reviews so (after checking its ok here) decided to get some to try. Where did you get the 'cissus quadrangularis'?

I got it from myprotein.co.uk as a powder. The thing is that the powder is, without doubt, the foulest tasting thing I've ever put in my mouth. I'd imagine for it to sell any units at all they must have capped it or worked some serious miracles on it. I just hope that the IMB doesn't go banning it, the steroidal compounds in it are only plant sterols and the stuff is closer to margerine than serious androgens, but most people are a bit shocked when they see the list of androgen-sounding compounds in it.

    Hey lads,
I've had pain in the tendons in my shoulder for the past year,
What supplement would you recommend for that and where could I get it (I've never taken a supplement before) ?
