Look for a thread called "Sidearms". Should be page 2 or 3. Some good posts in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭iceage

Question is, what do you fancy? Glock, beretta, Colt,Sig, or somthing bigger as in an SMG? Mp5k?....

A side or small really is one of the first 4.
    :)

i like berretas and colts.................sorry i should have specified that at the start

REally like the M19 MIA have...As far as i know its only about 90 euros too which is handy and it comes with a mag.My mate got one the other day and its really smooth Blow Back Pistol

Theres some nice stuff out there check out the irish sites. MIA, www.Eirsoft.ie. www.Airsofteire.com. they all have a nice selection of shorts.

My own preferance, if it's any help are Glocks, g19/23, g17, or a Sig p226.or p229(smaller) check them out. If your a lefty, sigs are fun and games as are USP. So do a bit of research and give this lot here a shout for advise.

    Iceage.

Oh God!!!! This thread could ignite the pistol wars!!!
Seriously, my preference would be for a 1911 or G17. I have a 1911 ordered.

Look, it's down to three pistols.

    1) If you want something light with a snappy slide action:

    1911.jpg

    2. If you want something with a little 'bling':
    1911%20Bone%20lg.JPG

    3. Now if you want something that could stop a sex crazed rhino on acid ......

At the end of the day. it's all about preferance. I'm really impressed with some pieces, and not not impressed by others. USP and Glocks have really egonomic grips and are lefty/righty friendly and others are not. But I still have a thing about Sigs, and their not! Beretta's are just too blocky for my small paws, and I can't find a Browning anywhere at a decent price thats in stock.

So as I said, take your time, if you get the chance to handle a few pieces it helps, because at the end of the day, your gonna be lugging it around the place!!!!!!!

I got a Beretta 92F spring. it's a nice size and feel but i'd get a GBB version.
Just got my first GBB today, Baby Hi-Capa 3.8, nice weight & feel to it though it's suited to a smaller hand.

you probably can't go wrong with something like a G17, it'd be a good solid gbb to start with. this is on my shopping list:

Well you say you like Beretta's and colts, the colts are covered by the 1911 heads above.
If you want a Beretta get a Hfc m190 or the newer 90TWO version.

    Two things Dex.
    1. It is possible to have too much of a good thing. And in the case of the Dragon it's about 3" too much
    2. Why anyone would do that to an M1911 frame is beyond me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Dragons just look like crap imo but the slide design means it's not as hard on gas as it could have been apparently

can't go wrong with a p226 sig, very reliable gbb and it packs a punch plus its €110 so its well within your budget:)

I own 2 out of those 3 pieces and have to admit they are absolutely cracking bits of kit, also have a TM G17 and would also recommend it..

Just got myself a TM G17 and would second the above comment; provided you like Glock and are ok with non-metal slides. The build quality is in another class.

if you want a Glock get a kwa/ksc G18c ,select fire gbb,
24bbs in 2 seconds beats all before it , also with the hop up set right you can get aeg range from them,

plus add a metal slide for that added ching when it fires

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭SniperSight

Why add a metal slide to a Glock. Wouldn't it be more realistic to have it made of polymer material like the real thing. Isnt that one of the great things about Glocks. Is it just for looks??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

its nothing to do with looks at all,its the sound of the metsl slide that makes its so much better, there is a big difference with a metal slide

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

the real glock has a metal slide too., adding a metal slide gives the pistol more kick and it sounds far better too,.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

Glocks have metal slide and polymer frames dont they.

My only advice is to chose a pistol you like the look of for whatever reason, and find out what brand that makes the airsoft version suits your price range and whether its a good model or not.

If you are completely new to gbbs it isnt nice to buy something that looks good but is poor quality and may give trouble.

Once you see a pistol you like, google its reviews or ask here if its reliable.

Something like a bell m9 or an early we hicapa may be more trouble than you expect, so ask about what you are getting.

Well 2 out of 3 aint bad......
Wait! Hang on! That's only 66%!
That's only 33% away from pathetic!
    666bxg wrote: »

    Firstly. It's a Glock.
Secondly: If you add a metal slide, remember the addage: "Metal slide on a Glock = Lipstick on a pig". All that money. All that effort. And it's still bloody ugly;)
    Gatling wrote: »

Ok. It only takes one shot to send your target to the safezone with their proverbial tail between their legs. If you need 12 BB/sec, work on your aim. It's cheaper in the long run and it's a lot more satisfying....

"Looks" and "Glock" in the same sentence? Just add "Lego" and you've got a full house.
    Gatling wrote: »

Yep. It makes it sound more like a 1911.
    vtec wrote: »

Now as an aftermarket mod, add a 1911 frame, slide, internals, mag, sights... and you'ld have the perfect pistol.

PS the above is a bit of a piss take. - Well sort of......:D
