I don't know about that specific gym but in general, I'd recommend Curves only to someone who is a complete beginner, and has no access to a proper gym.

Curves claims to let you do twice the workout in half the time by having machines which include both push and pull elements. You use your biceps to pull up the handle, then your triceps to push it down again. However, this means that there is no negative element to any exercise, where your muscle lengthens against a weight, and this is where most of the gains are made. The negative element is particularly important to women, because it helps keep bones strong.

If this gym is based on hydrolic machines like Curves, you have no way of increasing resistance as you grow stronger, or varying the exercises as you progress. Everyone I spoke to says you get bored very quickly.

There is a box between each machine which is supposed to be a cardio station, but is often used for chatting if the gym is full.

Many Curves don't have showers as "our members don't really sweat that much."

They are also pretty expensive. My local Curves costs 39 euro a month and a 50 euro joining fee, so in your first year you'd pay 519 euro. For the same money, you could join a really good gym with pool, personal trainers, proper cardio machines, lots of free and machines weights and things like pilates classes.
