Cordless Dect Phone Pairing question

Couldn't find anywhere better to put this...

Has anyone any experience of pairing DECT phones of differing brands with each other ?

I have a Southwestern Bell unit with answering machine & one spare handset & a panasonic "Trio" set that has one base station & two extra handsets.

I understand I may not be able to register the basestation of the panasonic set, but would like to be able to add the others, so that I can use the answering machine.

    Anyone any experience ?

I've no experience of it myself, but as long as both sets conform to the GAP specification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generic_access_profile) then there shouldn't be any problem. You'll be able to associate all the 3 Panasonic handsets, the fact that one of them sits in another base station's cradle is irrelevant. Just follow the instructions for handset pairing in the handbook for the base station you want to pair them to.
