I started excercising about 6 weeks ago & dropped 5% body fat but haven't noticed much change in appearance. Does that just take longer? What's wrong?

Pics or it didn't happen. But really did ya take pictures?

What are you using to measure, a scales or a calipers?

You probably put on a bit of muscle, lost a bit of fat.. and had two different body fat % tests....??

callipers im sure can probably give variable readings. one time last year, and dont ask me how or why.... i was varying between 13 stone and 13.5 stone on a day to day basis. in my opinion the best measure is taking photos along the way.

If you have been doing no weights then yes that normal - without doing weights fat loss will just make you look like a slightly smaller version of yourself

Very easily done. I can sit in a pub and drink a 1/2 stone of beer without going for a pee. My gravitational pull has changed, my fat hasn't.

How long does it take doing weights before you can really see a difference?

You can't really put a time on it, how long is a piece of string. Change is gradual, try taking photos to track changes. If you have a young lad growing up in your house his growth is un-noticeable, but meet a friends kid of the same age in a year and they seem to have shot up overnight.

I still get people who havent seen me in a year or even 6months coming up to me going "Jesus Christ, WTF have you been doing!", I don't notice it, but then I look at snaps taken at parties etc, and I can see a massive difference, even though the pics were not taken with the aim of tracking change.

I lost a bit since xmas, didn't notice until I had to go looking for a belt for jeans I had got 6 months ago.
