    6. Berserk
    7. Basilisk
    8. Cowbow Bebop

They're all in a fairly rough order after the first 4... I could only really decide definitely on those

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,086 ✭✭✭BKtje

    1. Naruto
    2. Trigun (Is my favourite soundtrack though)
    3. Bleach
    4. Samurai 7
    5. Full Metal Alchemist

That said i've seen some others that i enjoy'd but never really finished watching or remember. Plenty others i still need to watch. Some may wonder why Naruto is number one, well it was the anime that got me watching anime and apart from the filler (which i really detest) i enjoy it more than the others i seen :p

    1. Neon Genesis Evangelion
    2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
    6. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
    10. Full Metal Panic

Interesting choices, even though the first 2 are mainstream online and in japan barely anyone in Ireland has heard of Code Geass at least. It's a great show, people bitch about it way too much(then again they do that with EVA too). FMP is brilliant, especially the sequel series(which split up the comedy and serious plot into two seperate threads).

I have no idea of what order to put these in, so here they are in random order:

    - Rozen Maiden
    - Haruhi
    - New Getter Robo
    - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann(very popular choice, but I'm convinced I appreciate it on level other people don't so that makes it okay :P)
    - Code Geass
    - EVA
    - The Big O
    - Fate/Stay Night

And for the last 2, it's toss up between Gunbuster/Diebuster, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Excel Saga.

For live action stuff(Tokusatsu), I really like Kamen Rider Kabuto, Kiva and Cutie Honey the Live(moar Go Nagai).

Gundam 00 may make it onto the list later when I finish it. No Gundam really stands out enough for me above the others, maybe Turn A though. I tend to like robots/mecha as you may have guessed, moreso Super Robots(Giant Robo, GIGANTOR Gao Gai Gar stuff like that) than anything else; aside from loving giant robots, the overall quality of these shows tends to be higher for a number of rather vague reasons I won't get into.

    1. TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN - Who the hell do you tink I am?
    2. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - and 2nd Gig, tough I prefer the first season
    3. Bleach - I prefer the manga
    4. Cowboy Bebop - I never get tired of the movie
    5. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Never fails to make me laugh
    6. Code Geass - Reminds me of Death Note for some reason :/
    7. Porco Rosso - My favourite out of every Ghibli move I've seen
    8. Lucky Star - Has some excellant parodies
    9. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - I still can't figure out what I liked about this so much
    10. The Place Promised in Our Early Days - Picked this over Voices of a Distant Star

If I'd drawn up this list a few months back, it's be very differant, and would probably have included Welcome to the N.H.K.

I can't agree with you on the Porco Rosso and The Stand Alone Complex, everything else seems good. At this stage I think Ghibli deserve their own section.

I'm not an anime nut by any stretch but these would be my favourites from over the years in no particular order:

    Princess Mononoke
    Spirited Away
    Elfen Lied
Evangelion (minus the last 2 episodes, better to think it was never finished...)
    Trinity Blood
    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Full Metal Panic - The 2nd Strike (first was a bit boring)
    Ghost in the Shell
    Patlabor
    Patlabor 2

Also just throwing in these CGIs as I guess they don't quite fit with the main topic but are close enough in style:

    Vexille (Absolutely LOVED this)
    FF Spirits Within
    FF 7
    Appleseed
    Appleseed Deus Ex Machina

Yeah Im more a fan of the Battlemech genre's (eg. 08th MS Team) and much less so "Super Mech" series (eg. G Gundam). I did bridge the gap with Zone of the Enders though. And Evangelion just seemed like a supermech thing to me always.

noticed that nobody mentioned rosario + Vampire o well I think its good lol

Not necessarily saying it was a bad series, but after watching the series and then reading some of the manga, the manga was MUCH better i thought. It was alot darker and more interesting which they left out alot of the better or more interesting set pieces in the series that happened in the manga. I think people felt a little disapoinnted by the series. Welcome to boards btw :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,753 ✭✭✭fitz0

    10-Eureka Seven
