Hi Guys, Just having a look at my diet on my logs and think i need to replace some fruit snacks with protein ones ! I eat an incredible amount of fruit in a day which is a lot of carbs. I wont be cutting them out all together but maybe 4.00 / and night snack I may replace with some protein? I want something that is low in calories and full of protein really dont fancy eating a can of tuna I barely manage to eat it at lunch time.

So my question is what do you guys snack on ?

cottage cheese :D Also natural yoghurt, lean deli meat slices, slices of smoked salmon, handful of unroasted, unsalted nuts, natural nut butter, glass of skimmed milk, try tuna with pineapple added, a chicken fillet, a hard-boiled egg...

I have mentioned before about nuts being different prices in the same shops. i.e. in my tesco they have nuts in around 5-6 places. The baking section near the flour and cooking chocolate tends to have smaller bags at a good price and they are usually raw and unsalted. Then the health place has bigger bags, raw, unsalted but can be dear (not always the prices are all over the place). Then they are in the snacks, vegetables, organics, and some brands have their very own section.

So even in the one shop it pays to shop around. Unsalted Brazils were only 90c for a 100g bag in the baking section.

Cheapest peanut butter I have seen is still holland & barret meridian natural stuff, think €5.25 per kilo last time.

I prefer small bags, I tear through those 1kg tubs.

    Muller Rice ingredients:
Milk, Sugar, Rice (7%), Apples (5%), Apple Juice from Concentrate (2%), Modified Maize Starch, Egg, Stabilisers: Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum; Salt, Acidity Regulators: Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Citrates, Citric Acid; Flavourings.
That means there's more sugar than rice in it, and by the looks of it I'd hazard a guess it's relatively high GI.

It wouldn't be a highly recommended snack tbh, natural yoghurt with a sprinkling of crushed nuts and a dash of honey instead perhaps?
