Seems to be the same as this one
which I think a few on here have and had no problem with and there are a few reviews for it there.

Yep, it's the same one. And it's funkey. Mine shoots at around 315-325, over a string of 10. It's consistant, so I suppose it's accurate. I'd write a better review, only I don't snipe very often (at all really).

No problem. I know the VSR is quieter, and better known. But it's half the price............And comes with a bag, scope and bipod. I for one am laughing all the way to the bank.
Anyway there is an easy after market mod to reduce the sound signiture of the SSG.

    1. Take the money you saved.
    2. Change it into €5 notes.
    3. Wrap them around the barrel.
    4. With what's left over, go out, have a couple of pints, a taxi home and a bag of chips.

i think my next airsoft additions will be a sniper rifle and a hk 416

but are sniper rifles even any use with the 1j ruling?

like most american rifles are past this mark and i assume they get great distance, but id guess a airsoft sniper rifle operating in ireland would be accurate up to what 150-200 feet?

same as an aeg rifle on semi?

do you think the ssg 69 p2 is a good sniper?thanks

i wouldnt know guys here know alot more then me tbh.

but surely if airsoft equipment have a cap on power, then the advantage of a sniper rifle(accuracy from long range) becomes null void.

Id be pissed buying a sniper rifle, having to adapt to that play style, and find i cant hit people until im in the same range as they can hit me.

although ipersonally wouldnt have a problem having a sniper rifle using it in normal rolls

If ye know how to fuss over an airsoft guns internals, ye can get one of these to work pretty well.

From stock though people complain alot about them, but that could just be them not maintaining it right/at all.

Appart from the fact one cannot open the cylinder of that gun... yeah, you can work on its internals *innocent whistle*

Mine must be unique then :D :P

Yes, the cylinder can be opened, but its the hop and barrel that need to be cleaned to perform, the cylinder in my case was simply sound damped. Its a budget rifle sure, but treat a bar 10 like sh1t, dirty bb's, dirty hop and barrel, and it will end up doing poorly also.

The point, my dear friend, is the vsr10 / bar10 doesnt come covered in crap as standard... has VSR hop, and a decent barrel... I'm afraid they dont compare.... its like suggesting a kids bmx is akin to a 1000cc race bike... No contest.

I have both the SGG and the bar... to name but a few of many bolt actions I own... You indeed must have gotten a rare one... because the cylinders are NOTORIOUSLY sealed... Just look at the <banned retailer>'downgrade' fiasco....

The gun is the same as the utg m324.... _the exact_ Same gun. Many names... same crap.... Utg, well... Cybergun, Swiss Arms.... Double Eagle.... the list goes on.

My point my dear friend is that with a bit of know how, you can have a bit of fun with one of these rifles, but isn't all sunshine and roses straight from the box, but does have the potential, all it takes is a clean.

Compare a 'bad' sniper rifle to a bad gbb, a we for example, if that thing fecks up, its a catastrophic failure of the mechanism, bad seals, breaking parts, crap in every moving nook and cranny, the rifle, on the other hand is a lot easier to sort out and has a price to match.

Did i mention that they are over Irish fps limits out the box?
your 'special' openable one must be a different brand... because the ones these blokes are selling isnt openable, and clocks 400.... And bit of fun? you're practically going to have to ram the barrel up the OPFOR's nose to hit them with this gun....

WE pistols? well you just proved your lack of gun knowlage... As WE 1911s, MEU, Detonics are rather nifty pistols.... a good exampkle would be KJ....
As for easier to sort out... not really... you'd be suprised how many people think sniper rifles are simple and easy and uttery bum fudge themselves in the process by ignoring tollerances and the fine operation of a bolt action.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

Get an early hi-capa 5.1 or luger by WE and tell me they are great, they aren't, they are junk with a very high lemon rate.

The top of the ssg(de m50) cylinder screws off.

And airsoft sniper rifles are smooth bore springers with a hop-up, not nearly as fussy and not difficult to get decent performance from, the ssg is no different, it does the job, not as well maybe as the other guns mentioned, but to say they are useless is just a cop out.

    Give it a rest ok?

Argue via PM if you wish but not on this thread

    Consider this a warning

Sorry Master... I dont think we were arguing... isnt the forum for debate?

Stercus: Yes, OLD WE Lugers and hicappas sucked bum.... but the NEW guns of thiers are perfectly good... if not great.... I have one of thier MEU's.... the Socomgear version with real trademarks.... its a lovely performer....

As for the newer DE.... if it is removble as you say... what line of parts does it take? is it Aps2 clone? or vsr cylinder wise? if its neither... the fact it comes off is fairly mute apart from a downgrade. On an equal footing with a vsr, or l96... even the chinese ones, it is unsuitable... and out classed.

But at the price, it can't be discredited entirely.

Once you get one shooting straight and reasonably quiet its perfectly usable as a sniper. I don't claim it to be the winner of 'wot am best sniper' but I love mine, it works and cost me smeg all. I doubt its on a par with the bar's etc. but I don't agree with the idea they are useless.

For example, I got mine as a bit of a laugh, and intended to get a bar10 or something better as I had heard these were useless. Once I gamed this thing though I never bothered upgrading to a better sniper rifle, because quite frankly the slating they get is way exaggerated, so I always say with a bit of a clean they aren't bad at all. FPS is consistent, hop is consistent and far better than I expected and accuracy once I polished the barrel was good.

I just think its incorrect to slate them entirely, with a good clean out its a fine starter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Quite possibly for the non serious player its a reasonable taster.... Admitedly, we play in different environments, as an English player.... My rifles put out around 500 (except my Irishsoft Vsr10) I expect higher performance from rifles than someone in your position may....

However, The Well G22 (Lemming's) and my bar10 were both consistently hitting a target each shot at 50-60m bellow 330fps.... The DE SGG I aquired was lucky if it hit the same one at 20 with a clean barrel and set hop.... and it was firing at 400fps... the hop design is inferior in my view.... it requires the fps to compensate unfortunately. which curtails its performace at lower fps situations.

Its price is low... but I personally, as someone playing this sport far too long would rather pay the extra 30 euros to get a Bar10.

I'll have to compare my tweaked ssg to someone's pricier sniper at a game and get back to you, but I hold high hopes for it, mine cost me 65 btw ;)

whats better this or the well l96

The Well L96 is far better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

SSG's can be fun, and a tester for sniping, but not a be all and end all rifle, the l96 has more potential.
