It's class, I got the series 1 to 5 boxset for Christmas and I think it is just so funny, although I haven't watched all of them yet, I'm on the third series.

I think one of the reasons that it works is because in a lot of ways the incidents Larry gets himself into are believable and the viewer knows what the story is but the person dealing with him thinks he's an idiot. I'd recomend it to anyone.

Hang on, this isn't a joke - or wait, is it one of them new fangled anti-jokes?

    Oh man, I'm confused

great show, far better viewing than a lot of the forced humour you get in the typical US comedies.

    Larry David - genius

Best sitcom ever , so many classic episodes to choose from.
The episode with the chef with the Turettes is priceless. Season 6 was remarkably good, I was expecting it to be crap.
    Hope they make another season.

I agree Season 6 was superb. I can't believe they keep coming up with all these mad stories.
Anybody ever see the Survivor episode? Or the Terrorist Attack one?

The Terrorist Attack one is deadly. Where Alainis Morrissette ends up
preforming in a neck brace after her collision with Larry's friend
    .

But Larry never give away what her song Outta Know means even though she told him. I thought he was going to say it, or make something up.

Wanda is the best....she's bloody hilarious, always accusing Larry of being racist.

It's one of the best shows on tv for sure

One of the best shows ever created. Season six is magnificent as usual: The N-Word was one of the most brilliant comedy half hours I have ever come across. More4 seemed to have stopped showing it two episodes before the end though : weird. Hopefully will be back this week.

Pure over rated ****e.About as funny as a wet weekend in kinnegad or a visit to the dentist.

It's a program that some people will watch for 2 or 3 minutes and not get that it's ad libbed and will never watch it again.

    I love it.

Be gone, and take your sub-Forest Gump intellect with you.

I'll buy you the box-set of JOEY yeah.....ohh thats what you'd luv huh?

The Judy Doll Episode is my numero umero.

'Stop scratching your fuking balls Larry'
    'JUDY...JUDAY, JUUUDAY, JUUUDAAAY'

I'd watch it all day and all the live long night.

I like the Soprano's too but if I had to watch only one show between the Sopranos and Curb it would be Curb.

Btw the last time I was in Zavvi they were selling season 1 - 5 boxset for I think it was €60, bargin seeing as its €90.99 on play.com!

The Sopranos -v- Curb arguement is pointless: they are both at the top of their game, but two very different shows content wise. I would probably say the Sopranos is the best TV drama, and Curb the best comedy. I wouldn't say I prefer one of them, because I adore every episode of each.

Season Six is out on DVD in June, according to Amazon

Oh and it is back on More 4 tomorrow for the last two episodes of the season if anyones interested :)

    In agreement here,

although I think guinessdrinkers point was more if some vagabond was to put a gun to your head and say choose one to watch FOREVER!

I could not imagine the horror of a scenario like that.

Yes, I wasn't trying to compare the shows, they are obviously completely different.

hilarious **** love the dolls head episode, I heard Steve Coogan did episode an all, say that was interesting:)

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 30,019 CMod ✭✭✭✭johnny_ultimate

Coogan episode was on last night. Larry David at the top of his game again. Probably the most beautifully cringe-worthy thing I have seen in quite some time. The second the ultimatium was mentioned I was squirming in my seat and in bits laughing.

There really is nothing else on television that comes close to this show. While I love Seinfeld, I think Curb just takes the whole observational comedy angle one step further. By not restricting itself to a standard sitcom structure (and also through wisely deciding to go with the taboo breaking HBO) Curb can really do anything it wants, and I for one still find every new episode an exciting experience.

Just watched the episode with the squeaky shoes and the Jesus nail. huhhhh. I have been converted.

I think he did at the very end when he was trying to get back in the good books with the woman whose party he ruined? You don't see him say it, but he's just about to when the credits roll.

I love the show, but absolutely hate Seinfeld - though that's probably more to do with Seinfeld himself, rather than the writing.

Dolls head episode is the best. Isn't that the same one he's trying to smuggle water into the cinema and the girl comes into the bathroom and gives him a hug? Was practically crying with laughter at that scene - Larry David is a genius.

Strangely all my friends, family and my girlfriend think CYE is utter crap.

Along with The Wire, Curb is the greatest TV show of all time. People either love it or dont get it at all, Seinfield was brilliant Curb is unreal - Larry David is a genius.

    This is one if my favorite clips;

Bitter about all your unwatched boxsets much?

I have to agree with you though, it's like all those people who buy albums and put them in those racks that hold cds. Such posers!

I saw someone buy a book the other day too. They probably even have a dedicated "book" shelf that they were going to put it on. Probably having a house party and needed a centrepiece. I was going to make fun of him but I'd imagine he was so far up his own arse he wouldn't have noticed.
