I also have an aunt Marie, pronounced as above (though she has Hyacinth Bucket-esque delusions of grandeur and pronounces it Maw-ree).

No Marys in my family. I have an aunt Dara, and everyone laughs at her for having a boys name.

Mary isn't popular anymore so I'd say we wont be hearing of many Auntie Marys in the future. Out of 10 1st and 2nd year classes in the school I teach in there's one Mary

There's isnt anyone in my family called Mary (thankfully!). I did go to school with 4 Mary's and one of my housemate's is called Mary but I reckon the 90's pretty much killed off the name.

Does a great aunt called Marie count?

No Aunt Mary here. At the same time, Mary was a VERY popular name about 40 - 50 years ago methinks

Looking at the poll, it seems fairly acurate. My mother's name is Mary and I've a s**t load of cousins too.

I've a grand-aunt Máire and an Aunt Maura, that's close enough, isn't it?

I have 3 aunty Mary's. My Granny was Mary and I had a great aunt Mary. I have 2 aunts in law called Mary and a cousin in law Mary.

No but I do have an uncle Mary.

    Nope :D

I just realised that half the people I work with are called Mary or Maura or Maire, all over 40. Also, Mary Hanifan recently said that you've a great chance of becoming a politician if your name is Mary because there are a few of them. It's definitely a generational thing.

I voted anyway just to screw up the statistics in the poll a bit though. :D

I don't but my cousins would since my dad is named John.

So many common names could be used here and it'd work, John, Patrick, Mary, Paul, James, Anne etc..

I'm going to call my first boy Caesar Botolf <my surname>.. He'll thank me in time :D

It was the lack of an option for those of us with an Aunty Jaguar that made me do it.
