I bought them online, used them twice in one day as is recommended on the box and was in agony for the night, I do have sensitive teeth but doesn't say anything on the pack about not using if teeth are sensitive.. That's just my experience of them.. I still have the rest of the strips, might give them to a friend and see how they get on... Just weren't for me unfortunately :o Can't speak for anyone else..

Bought them on ebay a couple of times. They worked a treat and my teeth never went black! they use a milder bleaching solution than your dentist will but there may be some gum sensitivity nonetheless. I didn't have any however and the results lasted a long time. Might get another pack now that you mention it though!

You've probably had a really bad reaction so it might not work for you but apparently if you smear your teeth in Sensodyne after using these products and leave it on for 5 of 10 mins it takes care of the over sensitive teeth problem. Might be worth a try if you could bare trying again!

Both the gf and I experienced severe shooting pains in our teeth after using them. I think we both need to go to a dentist for a check up soon...

Um what ones did you get? I got Crest whitestrips in the USA recently and they're to be used once a day for 30 mins. I don't get any pain after using them..

I've used them before and got slight pains. I was a heavy smoker at the time and they worked a treat, pearly whites for at least a month. Had a visit to my dentist shortly afterwards and he was extremly impressed with the results.
The effects dont last long to te honest, after about 3 months the whiteness faded.

Are you guys brushing your teeth before using them? That might be why you're experiencing pain. It says on the instructions NOT to brush right before using the strips.

Yeah I was brushing, I'll try it without brushing and see what happens

Ok I started using them again, but this time I waited till after I used the strips to brush my teeth (morning and evening) and the pain issue has gone.. Woohoo :D starting to see a result now, been using them for 2 days now and intend to finish the box

Anyone know where is the cheapest place to buy them?

Also, do you have to used them twice a day, morning and evening? If you just used once a day what difference would there be?

You would damage your teeth. They are to be used once a day for a reason. Most of them are 14 day packs and after that 14 days there should be a significant whitening that will last up to a year.

    proof?

I think you would only increase sensitivity to the point where it is unbearable.

it looks like a private seller selling off their unused/unwanted crest strips and the current bid at auction is approx 2euro. They will probably fetch a higher price.

I wonder why the owner is selling them?

Is it like sticky tape or something?
How does it go on your teeth?

I ordered them off valueventure.ie - no sign of them 12 days later and can't get any information from the company in relation to my order. Buy them somewhere else would be my advice...

Can really recommend them. They are excellent, however the really heavy duty ones (Premium?/Pro?) made my teeth really sensitive so the lower dosage ones are better for me.
Plus I can only use them once a day or my teeth get sore. I do two courses a year and they work a treat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 April08

ah yes, i use them twice a year, i buy them in the usa... usually ask someone to get them for me in wallgreens pharmacy there. I buy the ones for $45 and use twice a year. I found the more expensive ones better. However, if your teeth gums do get sensitive just dont use them for a day or two and then start using again.. it doesnt make any difference if you skip a day or two... the $45 ones are made of a stiffer tape and are easier to keep on, the cheaper ones keep rolling up and falling off, so for an extra $10 you get a better result. :D

I asked my dentist about them and he highly recommends them. Not a problem at all he said....:D

Sorry to hear this. But maybe try using sensidine..there's not much a dentist can do for ye as the bleach has probably stripped away enamel which cannot be restored as it's a dead tissue. Crest was taken off European markets for a reason :(

Erm...no. The enamel was not stripped away. What you are experiencing is the 'zinger' sensation which can happen in all bleaching systems.

The reason why Crest strips are not marketed in Europe is because in Europe there are laws that are supposed to strictly control the sale and usage of chemicals that evolve oxygen such as carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide in common use in tooth bleaching systems.
