Dragonball Live Action Movie

So Im surfing along, looking for a new avatar to replace my kid goku. When Google pops up a few hits for a live action dragonball movie that has begun filming.

As of yet no official trailer or poster has been released. Just a bunch of fan-made crap. IMDB has listed it as official and in the filming stage. Set for 2009 release.

Goku is played by the douche who was the son in War of the Worlds.

Really the only hope this film has going for it is that fact that Stephen Chow is involved in producing. He was the guy behind Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle and those films very much had the spirit of Dragon Ball in them.

Oh and the girl playing Bulma is pretty damn cute:

There has also been a Live Action Dragonball made in Hong Kong.

I have a copy on DVD.

I'm still iffy bout this news. Though he could be interesting, if they get the look right. I hope for him they stick to make-up. Cgi would ruin it.

I know and guess how many views it has on youtube. Over 2.5 million. Obviously the DBZ community crave the live action movie.

Fan trailers generally just sicken me.... to the core....

i still think dragonball would be more suited to 3d animation a la final fantasy though.

I'm with Nerin put it in FF advent children style or get some decent actors who at least look the part

The actors need some steroids before shooting...

CGI might the best way to keep it looking like it should, although there is still a part of me that wants to see the Frieza saga in live action. Although that will definitely be a wait.:cool:

Yeah. GT started off pretty week but got to be fun again with the Baby Saga and the Super Android 17 Saga.

The androids were my favourite villains from Dragonball Z, so I thought it was neat to see them back.

id say make it look like ff7, as in if they want to play with dragon ball as real life, do, but do it cg so they can actually pull off the magic of it

Even when the Saiyan's transform to the large monkey type creatures, that would be well dodgey in a film if done wrong. It'd look like a Power Rangers episode, not that i've ever seen power rangers of course, all my friends tell me, yeah that's right my friends

reason no saiyan women really go super saiyan was the artists would have to many difficulties.
also,lack of trunks in this movie shall disappoint me. yes. trunks fanboy.

there is meant to be a 3 films, How do you think they'll split it up
the Saiyan Saga and Freeza Saga can be put in one with out killing it
but what about the Cell Saga and Majin Buu Saga
the Garlic Jr. Saga was not in the manga and not that great anyway

even if they don't keep every thing from dragonball and recreate it(i hope they don't)there are 3 movies coming with 3 main villians

Freeza and Cell definitely first.

I thought Buu was the least interesting and the saga kind of dragged on a bit. Cell saga is still my favourite. Freeza coming second.
