Dull picture on Mediaplayer....HELP!!

Hello to all. Recently the picture on media player and media player classic on my laptop has become very dull. I've tried loads of stuff to increase the brightness but to no avail. The picture on movies played through nero is fine..so i'm a little confused as to what the problem is. Any suggestions would be great!!…
