Is Dublin off the EPT schedule for season 5???

looks like a great weekend of poker, but why not have the 500 as a 2 day event on the Sunday and 200 freeze out on the Sunday, I dont think people really like the idea of a 200 rebuy.

So the EPT is defo off....can't say I'm to bother.

I herd theres plans for an Irish EPT back in 2009 and in all likelihood outside the capital with Kerry being the preferred new location

Will anybody be running live sats to this ?

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Also, are online sats running for this? I presume they are, but if there are details posted somewhere else a link would be appreciated. Cheers.

    http://www.paddypowerpoker.com/irishwinterfestival/qualify.php

They are live across the iPoker network (but I'd sure appreciate it if you played on PPP ;)), nice package to be honest, includes a party up in that sky bar place in the Guinness Storehouse...

    edit: Package info here: http://www.paddypowerpoker.com/tournaments/online-qualifiers.php

Live sats will be running in the very near future (we're in contact with a lot of cardrooms in both Ireland and Britain about this); contact your local card room about it and find out when they plan to run them!

Will PP be running ticket only sats? All them extras really add on to the cost of trying to win a ticket

No plans have been set in stone as yet, but we will probably run some ticket-only sats in the week leading up to the event (by this stage the network wide super satellites will have stopped running). We'll announce ticket only sats here once a decision has been made and dates and times have been set, so realistically there won't be any more news on this until early October.

Once we get the Killarney Event over we will prob run a sat in Waterford for this as there will be a good bit of interest in it down this side .

Any super sat to this up there in City west ???

Sorry Neill, I misread it. I thought you were asking about someone running a sat to your killarney event. I really shouldn't stay up late watching tv shows although generation kill is a good watch.

    Humblest apologies, ignore me.

+1 for ticket only sats. From a quick look last night it seems that having the hotel + flight package makes it twice as difficult to win a ticket. Pity IMO.

Leaving ticket only sats that late is pretty ridic,
Seriously, there is no reason not to.

PPP is mostly aimed at the irish market,
Alot of this market would prefer ticket only,
If a sat changed from package to ticket only (while maintaining the same prize pool), PPP takes in more ME rake. Business sense FTW.

I would consider lodging on PPP if they ran ticket only sats, (what more encouragement do you need)

Alright, we're going to look into this and one of us will get back with more info over the next few weeks; if there really is a demand for ticket-only sats throughout September, PPP will get on it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 754 ✭✭✭robinblinds

    Folks,

at the moment we are devising quite a few ways of opening up the IWF to players through online ticket only sats.

We are looking at a few options instead of just lashing one or two mtt's into the tournament lobby without any thought.

Over the coming weeks we will have different mtt's, stt's, with cash and/or ipoint buy in feeders for you.

We'll keep you updated as to when they will appear in the lobby.

    Evan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81 ✭✭express79

I'd def play a few ticket only sats, especially if the buy-ins were relatively high so you'd have a good chance of winning a ticket.

Stts are also a good idea. Maybe something like the "steps" they have on PokerStars for EPT, WSOP, etc. 3 steps would probably be enough if it was ticket only

Are the Cake poker sats for this legit?

I was 1 of 7 entrants to a 4* gold chip (FPP) entry MTT where all 7 of us won a $100 + $9 sat seat for a $4500 package for this.

(*84 chips for a Bluff magazine subscription)

Fully legit, I spent Paddys night in Flannerys doing Jaegerbombs with some Cake execs and they loved the place. They are intent on getting over here as often as possible.

Message to PPP. I have a very keen interest in playing ticket only to this. Would like to see somewhere around $150 - $200 buy in. 1 in 13 or 14 players get a ticket. Have 2 or 3 goes. I am planning to play the sats anyway but would rather have ticket only please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,901 ✭✭✭✭Mellor
