Not pretty enough for headline news so, that must be why no one knows about it.

No idea. They're making it up as they go - 24 hour news and all that. Just that she was found under a bed today.

Takes the idea of "hide and go seek" to a whole new level really.

The uncle of shannon is quoted as saying that '' Kate and jerry Mcann only did what any other well of familys would do with access to media ,and to highlight their missing daughters case '' ....although they got the meida coverage with or without their consent , still it seems no hangs up about that by shannons uncle .

God! That's brilliant! Wonder what happened to her though during these weeks.
This news must give the McCann's some hope.

Why do people care what makes Sky news? So what if the McCanns only got so much coverage because of their status and so what if this case didn't because, as you put it, they're "not pretty enough." Sky News are just trying to fill time and keep people hooked on updates, so it is hardly a bad thing that they didn't obsess over this one too.

They just said on Today FM that the house she was found in was about a mile from her home.

Hmmm found under the bed of a 39 year old man. He is a relative of the step father apparently.

    Strange.

Edit: Seems shes now the subject of a police protection order. Getting more sinister now.

thats brilliant- i saw a newscast about her the other day and her mother was in bits

who was the bloke? and why was she hidden in a bed?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,799 ✭✭✭Tha Gopher

What exactly is a divan bed?

Heres a question. Who is the worse parent

a- Shannons. Mother of 7 kids by 5 dads, has the appearance of a bit of an alcoholic/possible drug user

b- The English hippy woman in India who left her 15 year old daughter in the care of a man 10 years older while she went travelling across the country

    c- The McCanns

Id argue the McCanns tbh, yet a and b have come in for more media criticism over the last few days than they ever did. How they have never been charged with (at least) manslaughter due to gross negligence I do not know.

Having said that, it is the UK. A country which has given these celebrity mother of the year awards to Jordan (she who has a son suffering from a multitude of illness likely caused by drinking during pregnancy), Kerry Katona (you see better mothers fall out of the pub at midnight on child benefit day) and...well....probably some other sh1t candidates.

Anybody see the extended ITV thingy earlier?

    I dont have the words.

If a randomer cries in an estate and there is no camera around to see them, do they make a sound?

At least now he'll get a proper nights sleep without all that banging.

The child looks as rough as sandpaper.Well at least now she is free and can look forward to spending time with her mother and her sisters dad,and her brothers dad,and her other brothers dad,and her other sisters dad and the other dad as well.
How lovely for her to have such an "extended" family to return from under a (MUST have been quite large) bed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 182 ✭✭andyl222

I know this will sound very cynical, but what if this was a scam to drum up money.... look at the money the mccanns had donated after maddie went missing. perhaps the stepdad thought it would be an easy way to have large sums of money literally thrown at them to search for the missing child. speculation I know, but the protection order adds a very sinister twist to the tale....

Bollix, autism IS NOT caused by drinking during pregnancy, if Jordan had been drinking during pregnancy Harvey would have been born suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome which he was not.

He has another medical condition which is genetic

    Uh huhhh.

She was drinking heavily when having the kid. It would be a pretty big coincidence if it was not partly to blame.

Harvey suffers from septo optic dysplasia which does not have links to drinking during pregnancy etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septo-optic_dysplasia#Causes

We shall have to agree to disagree that alcohol has not got one thing to do with the kids apparently numerous problems.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭niceirishfella

Apparently the guy arrested is an uncle of the kids step father...........

there was a pic of him on skynews today. The media always manage to get pics of the "accused" in case like this that depicts them as pedo's or social degenerates.....
