ok, shamelessly stole the idea from the meath forum, who shamelessly stole it from somewhere else.

story is, a picture is posted up here of somewhere in cavan (not somewhere stupid like "my bathroom/garden" etc) somewhere where people will recognise, maybe a slightly obscure angle etc..

when somebody guesses right, they then post a pic up next. It doesnt really work if ye steal it from the internet as this just makes it too easy, so get out the cameras and post up here!!!!

ill go first, its fairly well known (easy).

By the way, ye can post a pic directly onto the page (like i did) and not just the address by......

    1. upload ur pic to a site like http://www.photobucket.com

    2. copy the url of the pic by..(right clicking on your pic and go to properties, right click the address (url), highlight it and then "copy")

    3. on this page.... type "" (without the quotation marks) then to the right of that.. right click and "paste" the url of the pic. to the right of that then type "" (again without the quotation marks!)!

Is it Finn McCool's fingers on Shantemon Hill?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,921 ✭✭✭munchkin_utd

from the trees about it I'd hazzard a guess that its the giants grave in Killykeen

(or more presicely the Megalithic Tomb there at Gatrtnaoul in Killykeen forest park)

Doh! I have it! This is actually an electron microscope image of the original poster's large intestine...... after a night out on the tiles. Those lumpy things are chip molecules.

    Oh, very clever......

Yay! I'll be out and about tomorrow so I'll take a few snaps with the mobile.

(You know I was half way up the spire of SS Patrick and Fedlim yesterday evening all set to get a closeup of the cross on top. Then some busybody called the Guards. People....!)

Yep, your right, St Aidans Butlersbridge. One of the most important buildings in the history of architecture in Cavan. Willian Hague's first church, and the rose window pictured, it's most elaborate feature.

BTW the first two churches mentioned are also Hague churches. Don't know were them educated guesses or just pot luck?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 821 ✭✭✭Gallant_JJ

I'll fire up another, if people don't mind. Hopefully it wall gain momentum.

Hard to know if this will be a little hard or will the geographical features be an instant give away!

Edit: The quality of the image is a bit ropey but for the sake of ever downloading the page it can't be much bigger

Yea, I too will take a guess at the recently refurbished Church in Butler's Bridge...and a fine piece of workmanship it is too - you'd nearly scurry in an say a quick prayer such is it's beauty
