'Knockout' Supplement

Has anyone used Olimp Labs Knockout supplement. We can pick it up through our team and was just wondering has anyone found any of the best ways to use it or if it is any good?

It's basically a pre-workout creatine supplement (four kinds of creatine). It says to consume ~30 mins before working out. I was contemplating going on the creatine for two months or so in order to have me in good shape for the championship (GAA). On my pitch-training days should I take it ~30 mins before training and take it on my rest days or would I be better taking just a creatine monohydrate supplement on those days? Or, on the other hand, should I just take the Knockout supplement before my weights sessions?

    Cheers

Been using this stuff on/off since November, used it flat out from Nov to Jan, only use it now on days when im in the gym doing weights.

We were recommended to take it before AND after gym exercise, i never used it on rest days! It has definitly helped built up my power and strength and i am going to keep taking it for the forseeable future.

I tried taking it before training (GAA) but it doesnt settle all too well with me.

I havn't researchd the product al to well, but from what we were told it helps reduce the build up of lactic acid hence allowing one to train harder and for longer, some of the lads swear by it... im still not too sure!

Some of the guys i know just take it every morning - btw the taste is a bit iffy too  but close the eyes and down it, thats what i do!!

Are many GAA players taking creatine these days? I thought it was just neanderthal egg-chasers...

GAA is quickly following in rugbys footsteps, i have seen drills now that imitate alot of rugby plays. Alot of emphesis now is on tackling and speed work so rugby coaches and their techniques have been used.

Look at the Armagh, Dublin, Tyrone etc teams nowadays - COMPARE these to the teams say 30 years ago! BIG DIFFERENCE! There all massive now...

If creatine can help give a team a slight edge why not try it!!

I'm a GAA man myself and don't dispute for a second what you're saying, far from it, but I figured just the odd weights-conscious chap took it - as far as club players go anyway (I assume your not referring to a county team, thewools?) and I don't disagree with people taking creatine - although I've never tried it myself - I just didn't realise it might be as widespread as it seems...

I started taking the stuff as i needed to fill out - i play midfield and have been involved with county set up and college teams so this is where i see perhaps see the more professional set up!

im 6ft 3 or so and just needed something to help as i could not put on weight regardless what i done!

So over the last year or so i put on approx 1.5 stone and have bulked up considerably and now ~ 14stone, without the creatine supplement this process may have taking alot longer...

Ouch! Sounds like someone's been previously slighted by a rugby player :D.
I've noticed a lot of anti-rugby sentiment in this forum. True, rugby has its fair share of a**holes, but no more so than any other sport. Or am I wrong?

By the by, I'm a rugby player and I don't take creatine (just whey, l-glutamine, general amino acids and glucosamine for the joints)

    Is there?

The only anti rugby sentiment I've seen is when 14 year olds start taking creatine and act like it's a drug.

Ha - no, far from it. Just not a rugby fan and there's nothin wrong with a bit of inter-sport banter, eh! :D

I sometimes wonder if creatine is worth a damn.I've never really noticed a major difference whether i take it before, during, after a workout or not at all.

Imo, you need to take a SH!T load to get good results. I know both myself and AmazingEmmet have had good results super dosing.

*And of course I in no way recommend this and any deviation from thr recommended dose is taken at your own risk etc etc...*

Absolutely not. I used to play GAA for St. Judes (that should get me more stick than the rugby), and still hang out a few GAA guys, so I'm used to plenty of banter. I even enjoy a good "hang sangwitch" now and then. :D

I'm not saying that there are posts devoted to how much people hate popped-collar rugby jocks (although I do hate popped-collars), but there does seem to be a rugby/creatine stereotype. Maybe I'm wrong.

    Desert Spoon??

I took tablet forms of creatine last year - 4 times a day, was far easier to remember to take...

but what form of intake would you use by "Desert Spoon"?? Fully Concentrated stuff or what?

F*ck! a desert spoon three times a day seems a lot.

I don't think i'll be trying out that much. I might just try it before and after weights and before pitch training/games and see what it's like for a couple of months or so
