I love my Civic dash :) My old Fiesta, now that was nasty.

I don't have a photo of my own handy, so here's an LHD one:

I actually think the 75 dash is very nice. I agree about Audi interiors, they are finished very well, but you do pay for the priviledge!

    I like this:sideview.jpg Fiat Coupe

Rented a Fiesta recently, pure kak interior. The Skoda Fabia had horrible colour plastics too. Design wasn't bad as such, boring, but not offensive... but the plastics were!
Most of the VW Polo's were pure kak inside too. Was in a skyline too, pure shyte, Primera replica.

Best my new Golf worst Seat Leon

As long as it has brown leather seats, I will think it's just lovely.

I would have to say the mr2 has a great interior, especially for its age. The low down armchair like sitting position is just so comfortable:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,423 ✭✭✭pburns

Alfa 159 with cream leather - yum!

The Rover 75 interior may be a bit old school but still nice in a 'poor man's Bentley' kinda way - a traditional British interior at a knock-down price. The MG ZT had aluminium instead i think which really was lovely. Just 'cos it's not a bloody Audi:rolleyes:

Audi concentrate on interiors as one of their main USPs. IMO the newer models are not as good as the previous generation. I sat in a new A4 recently and although quality of materials was excellent I wasn't impressed. Downright fugly. Having said that the colours on this particular car were yuck.

Haven't seen it in the flesh but the Jaguar XF interior looks fantastic - a modern slant on the traditional wood-and-leather with that innovative gear control...

Although the 159 is lovely, I preferred the 156/147/GT dash.

However the 166 dash is beautiful. So beautiful, when I did a google image search and clicked on one pic, our firewall popped up with a message, "Forbidden Category 'Pornography' " lol.....

I'm not sure I agree Audi make the nicest interiors, but they are certainly laid out the best. Every button, switch, dial is in the place it should be.

I'm probably a bit biased, but I think Alfa make the nicest interiors of your affordable car out there....

the interior of my current GT is something special

These pictures aren't actually taken from my car, but from teh website, but it's the same.

as for worst interiors, I would have to say of what I've been in, Toyota & Opel rank down there. Nissan is also very nasty

1996- A4 has the switches for the electric windows at the driver's elbow. Ergonomic disaster. My fingers are on my hands..

Yeah that guy who says the current Golf has the best interior mustn't get out much... Actually when I told a VW salesman (the heir to the Michael Moore throne) that the MkV interior was a backward step from the MkIV he got up and walked away! But it is! Rich kids aren't accustomed to people disagreeing with them I guess:p

I remember being impressed when I stepped into a MkII Laguna. I was (slightly) younger and more impressionable back then;)...

Audi dashes are commonly considered as the best in the market by the motoring press.

Personal opinion is the worst, given what they cost are BMW's, all their modern dashes are bland looking, although they tend to look better without the idrive screen stuck in the middle of the dash.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,269 ✭✭✭cabrwab

Quick question which is best and which is worse?!!! The wood looks like the colour of baby pooh!!

DB9 eh porn as are most alfa interiors!

I remember sitting into the Mk V Golf when it was only out a few weeks and I was amazed at the lower quality plastics compared with the previous one, especially the steering wheel. Looked pure cheap. The Mk 4 Golf had a poor dash shape, but at least the plastics were among the better in that class.

That asian corolla's dash would genuinely make me puke.I understand the concept of putting fake wood in a cheapish car but atleast make an attempt to make it look half real anyway!!!!!!!!

I love it. My '85 Civic was similar.
Class the way the centre console where the radio is doesn't come down to the floor. Great for legroom.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,269 ✭✭✭cabrwab

Ah extra leg room is that what that was for i thought it was so something in the passanger footwell could easily roll across under the pedals and thus lead to a nice high speed crash into a wall!

High speed crash. It's a Micra. Checkmate!

I know someone who drove an '89 Micra up until a few years ago. Reliable enough old banger but you could hear it coming a mile away. It sounded like a tractor.

@Max_damage: Has your Micra been the subject of a peel the door back attack?

Yes it has, four times during its entire lifetime. The bastards never managed to steal it thank god. The big chain on the steering wheel and the homemade immoblisier work a treat.

There is a 'bump' between the passenger & driver footwell. It's there for the exhaust pipe, gear linkages, etc. that travel underneath.

Opens like a tin of sardines! Well done for keeping them from stealing it though. The person I know had theirs stolen from a church car park on Christmas Eve. I assume they waited until they heard confirmation on RTE1 that the jolly fella had actually left the North pole so it was too late to go changing the naughty list.

They got it back though with no damage. When they eventually sold the car about a year ago, it had been lying up for 2 or 3 years. A jump start and it was away.
