I hope this is the right forum for this query... I want to transfer music from my PC and MP3 player onto cassette. I have a basic hifi that records from radio/cassette/cd onto cassette and at the back it has Line Out, MD In, & Video In sockets. Anyone know how I'd go about doing this?

I presume the MD is for minidisc input, so this might be the best match to the MP3 player. Otherwise a jack-out/RCA-in connector from your sound card to the Video-In connector should do the trick. Quality loss will be very noticeable I'd imagine. Car stereos that play CDs/MP3s are very cheap these days.

Thanks for the reply pickarooney. It's not actually for a car that i'm looking for this, i just prefer listening to my cassette walkman rather than my PC or cheap mp3 player (weird, i know:D). It's mostly stuff i've recorded off a radio programme, and the sound quality on the recorded tapes i find is better than the sound from the streamed version i can download from the radio station's website. Anyhow, i think i've find a solution today in Maplin. picked up a MP3/CD cassette adaptor that i can use to play my MP3 on one cassette deck while recording on the other deck. I suppose the sound quality still won't be great, but at least it'll be on cassette...
