I'd be pretty freaked out if a girl asked me to marry her....

    If she's that eager...I dunno.

I'm desperate for any sort of female attention, so I'd readily accept and be happy that someone asked me (most likely by mistake)

Wouldn't mind at all if my girlfriend asked me to marry her (assuming I actually wanted to of course).

Now that is seriously desperate, no wonder they are all saying no to you.

Well if the girl does the asking does she have to buy the guy an expensive ring (or equivalent... PS3, big screen tv!!) ?

I am open to bribery for my hand in marriage.

In this day and age, sure why not. However I'd prefer if she made a few massive hints so I could do the actual proposing.

I don't think I could ever ask someone to marry me. That question is a question that needs to be asked by the man in the relationship.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

Never gonna happen. Well it might happen(actually it probably will) but they're never gonna get an affirmitave response. No way Jose. Chicks are not built for marriage proposals. They're too calculating and nerveless.

Marriage proposals must include cold sweats, self doubts, trembly hands and sweaty man groins. Girls are no good at any of those things. Especially the last one. Nope, not for Pighead.

You'd have to say yes for the shag anyway and then dump the sl*t (unless the shag was great)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,395 ✭✭✭Drift

I don't think I'd have much of a problem with a girl asking me. I'd feel under HUGE pressure to say yes though so I think I'd prefer to be the one doing the asking .... that way I decide when ;). But like another poster said ... in most cases both parties are going to see it coming anyway.

Although its a nice idea i really would rather him asking me:o Hinting loudly lol

We have so little left in this country of men been the men sorry don't mean 2 insult but i find so many girls now are taking the roll over so guys really dont know where they stand.
Wasn't leap year meant 2 be a way for a woman to ask him to marry her,and in return he was meant to ask her? Like a mock proposal to give him the ok

I dont have a problem my man been the man i actually like him been strong for me,I dont mean go back 2 the stone age or anything just let men be the men and woman be the woman.I feel our country although i love it very much has lost its way a little cause of this Celtic tiger thing and women have become just as power hungry as men?

Well sweetie u know romance isnt about what he does its how he does it.I am sure u have special little things he does for u which are romantic, coming in and kissing u for no reason? sending u that secret smile :o pushing ur hair behind ur ears and brushing ur cheek,
Maybe i am easily pleased :o

P.s hope he asks u soon then :)

Not a girlie girl at all. He's nice just not affectionate or at all romantic. Valentines card just read "happy valentines day" and his name. Its just the way he is, thats why I'd wait for him to propose - I'd like to see him being romantic and affectionate!

Yeah i guess alot of guys dont know how 2 be or are afraid to show that more affectionate side i am sure he thinks he is though :)
Dont worry mine doesnt go in for the whole valentines thing either, he hates it in fact lol :D. Big against the whole commercial side of it.But i think romance is in the way he treats you and he is good to you so thats ten fold over any whats meant to be romantic. But i am sure when he asks u it will be very romantic ;)
