Am I getting enough for Breakie?

Breakie last few mornings has consisted of...

    A shake with

    2 Banana's
    60g Vanilla Ice Cream (Roughly)
    30g Whey Protein
    250ml Supermilk (Roughly)
    15g of Oats (Roughly again)

Followed maybe by a few pieces of fruit.

Am ment to be bulking a bit at the mo but dodgy ankle the last week has slowed down the workouts. Am 6'3, about 14st.

Wouldn usally be doing anything workout wise or training till atleast 7 in the evening and would be eating probably not enough during the day. Should I pile in a bit more breakie to compinsate?

Why don't you eat some protein like eggs or chicken in the morning instead of the shake and then have the shake as a mid morning snack?

And as for the question of are you getting enough, it really depends tbh. It depends on what you are consuming for the rest of the day.

To be honest the shake has just turned out very handy (ever since i found the hand blender in the cuboard that apparently has been there for years)

Have eggs every couple of days, jus chicken in the morning dosnt do it for me I havta say.

Mayb large can 100g tin of tuna at 11, sum sorta chicken/prawn thing at lunch (made night before)
Brown bread n peanut butter round 4

    Decent dinner round 6.30

Depends on what I do that evening then but anything from a protein shake n fruit to...a number of things

There's no point in just throwing out a load of suggestions of what to eat, you need to accurately calculate what you're taking in food wise every day and then take it from there. There's absolutely tonnes of info in the stickies on how to do that and then where to take it from there.

I'd say he's getting enough for breakfast. There's not much point overloading your breakfast to compensate for later in the day. It'll only leave you feeling sluggish I'd imagine.

Ah I understand that, I was just making the point that it's no good concentrating on just one meal in such detail without looking at the overall picture.

Ok I am going to ask, why icecream even if you are bulking?

Why not? I would venture a guess that it's because it tastes nice. I don't see the point in sapping ALL the fun out of food. If he wants icecream, and is looking to bulk, let him eat icecream. I know I've said this before, but I train with and know alot of national caliber bodybuilders and powerlifters who have massive amounts of muscle actually look like they lift weights. The one general consensus is "get the calories in". This is what the OP's doing, and it looks like he's about to be crticised for it. I know it's cliche to say, but I would take the word of the guys I train with who are jacked over the conclusions a theoretical discussion in some book or journal.

Assuming the OP's making a shake/smoothie in his original post then icecream would give it some nice consistency. And since it's first thing in the morning and his body will be crying out for kcals it won't matter THAT much.

I agree with you completely about the ice cream. Ice cream in a smoothie rawks plain and simple....makes then taste delish and contains some much need calories......i haven't seen any criticism of it yet, more just a question.

Remember the whole "well if you assume that at the start of my posts" thing?

Or i could be wrong and JSB is gonna be super picky today! :D
