doth my 'eyes' deceive me??

hey guys. i was just playin omaha there on irish eyes and saw the most bizarre thing. pot raised pre flop, 4 of us in it. flop is jack 7 7 with two hearts. small blind bets out half pot or so, big blind call. me and other guy in the hand fold. turn comes a blank, action is check check. river is a king, small blind checks and the big blind checks behind. the small blind has pocket jacks, but the big blind has pocket kings with a 7!!!!! the uber nuts!!!!

am i crazy or is that just blatant collusion?? i play quite a bit online but have never come across anything like this before. maybe someone wth a bit more experience can tell me if this kind of thing is a common enough occurance andcan simply be put down to hands being mis read or something like that....

Depending on what level it is, they could just not know what they are doing

If you have the HH or the hand number even then send the details on to the Irish Eyes support team. Sounds like something they should investigate.

K7 was obviously balancing his range for checking behind on the river, he'd be very readable if he only checked behind marginal hands

This is possible,bit it still stinks a bit.
I was playing a sat a couple of weeks ago,twice in 2 rounds on the bubble shortstack on the SB pushes into BB,now the blinds are 1000/2000 and shortie has approx 2100.BB is the chipleader and folds both times.....

Last month In a limped pot I made the nut flush from the blinds, I bet out on the river and a straight flush flat called me. I have no idea why.

I have seen guys check behind on the river with monsters and when questioned why they just said "Sure he wouldn't have called a bet anyway, so why bother?" This is my new mantra...

Sometimes people do weird things in Omaha. I had a guy flat call me on the river with the overfull (I had quads and was most annoyed). Some people take the maxim "only bet the nuts" to the extreme. It does seem very suspicious here though, since they only bet when there were other players in the hand. If they were truly colluding though, surely the guy with KK would simply fold, since the other guy practically has a lock?

quick question - was thinking about this a while back - say the pot is €x amount, and i have the nuts and its checked to me - if u figure that the guy was chasing a house and is good enough to fold the river if he misses when u bet - Is the rake going to be the same wheather i check or bet? I know its a bit OT, but just curious.

But if you bet and get called, you've got value regardless of the rake. If he folds the rake is the same as if he'd checked. Minimal difference anyway.

this is horrible reasoning for checking behind..... bet for value..... he might even CR bluff......

rake is capped on most sites so I guess it's already maximum rake if there has been action on previous streets....

first of all, i know irish eyes is the site of satan. but if you concentrate its just such free money, even for me!!!! and with no credit card its a handy site to play. it was 50c 1 euro level and the guy who checked behind had over 500 in front of him, makes me angry that someone as clueless has him wins any money...still, it will make for a nice witch hunt over the next few days:D

i remember names and time it happened, also the table name. but i do not have the hand number, silly of me i guess. it just caught me by surprise at first. of course the argument is that is was a misclick and if it was collusion why would they show...i guess i will just keep an eye out for the two of them over the next couple of weeks ( i have nothing better to do at the mo :rolleyes:)

what is this about? if someone posts something on a online poker forum that i think is stupid which is quite often i dont make a habit of tracking them down and verbally declaring my thoughts tru their letterbox and i woudnt expect them to do that to me either.

I have changed my opinion lots of times as a result of debates on forums(not on this one yet though although van dice came close sssssssh), msn/aim convos. Everyone has. They just dont admit it because its embarassing to be wrong after arguing for 30 posts on how your right. They just wait until the thread dies down or whatever. Alot of the time people will change their opinions subconciously while reflecting on the discussion after the fire has left their bellys.

FWIW if you are unfamiliar with unusual situations like this happening then i dont think its stupid to post about it. What i found stupid was you saying you were going to keep an eye on them for the next few weeks. I immediately pictured the "busybody neighbourhood watchman" jumping around online poker tables taking notes on the suspects betting patterns. Then i pictured the cop from the big lebowski saying "leads hahahaha" and imagined the poker support staff in a similiar role after receiving multiple updates from you on the suspects movements . On another day id roll my eyes and move on to HHs and Theory but not today.................wasnt this fun though?

nah i just meant cos on eyes there is only ever one or two tables open of that limit in omaha so if i came across them again id know more after a short while....and yeah ur right, i guess ppl do change their opinions without admitting it, but thats what i was gettin at, no one admits it
