peanuts as a source of protein

    are peanuts a good source of protein?or is their calorie count too high? Or are they ok in moderation?

    Depends on your over all diet, peanuts are high in (good) fat so in you average punters diet they should be in moderation. If your diet is bang on and your active then have plenty.

    For an even better good fat ratio you could try walnuts or almonds.

    Personally I find them (walnuts & almonds) great for between meals snacks.

    And just in case, you should be going for the unsalted, ones not the ones you get in pubs - definitely not the healthy option!

    peanuts are an incomplete protein source, more info on it here: http://www.bodyforlife2.com/incompletprotein.htm
    you can mix it with rice to make it complete

    All plant sources (except soy) are "incomplete" sources of protein i.e. they don't contain all the essential amino acids, but he's not suggesting that PB would be his only source of protein obviously, so it doesn't matter.
