an osteo might be a good place to start, as they check your whole body alignment and will treat the problem and not the symptoms. Good luck…

Well lads, thought I should reply after my visit to the Podiatrist in the Dundrum area. Firstly my problem is shin splints in my lower right leg or over loading in the anterior tybialis muscle.

So this therapist immediately suggested building his own custom orthotics. He followed up with, they're not guaranteed to work and that he does not work under pressure so will take 2/3 weeks to create followed by a period of 6 wks in order to break them in.

Basically he said I was screwed because of my flat feet and that having already injured my knee I will never be fully fit.

And the charge for all this 80Eur Deposit followed by 220Eur to claim the custom orthotics.

I just want to ask is this the norm>

Yes that is dirt cheap compared to the cost of mine. Mine were around the same price but had to pay €80 for each visit to him where my feet were padded, went to him twice a week for 2 weeks and then I had a biomechanical exam where he scanned my feet to make the orthotics that was €150..count yourself lucky

Just be thankful you don't have back problems too, I highly recommend orthotics
