Anybody out there heard of or tried these before?

Would they be any use or are they just another gimmick? Push ups have never been a strength of mine and have been meaning to work on them but always put it on the long finger (like the rest of my fitness/general health/diet :()

Invented by a navy seal, made from Steel and ball bearings - wow. I've ordered two!

Seriously - no. If you want serious upper body strength in a more functional range of motion than afforded by the normal push up (which does all said in that ad on its own) then go here www.ringtraining.com

You definitely don't need them. I can do the perfect pushup without them and so can you!

It just requires hard work and perseverence. Products like these are for people who think that they can get fit by spending money, instead of hard work.

I have the argos stands and like them. The perfect pushup is discussed a bit on the site in my link. Verdict of most is that they are unnecessary.

I would second the rings recommendation, the link in my sig has some pages that show how to make rings cheaply.

    From another forum...
I was in Wal-mart tonight and saw an overweight kid carrying a set of these (perfect pushups) to the checkout. He was reading the box and had this excited look on his face like "Im going to look like this guy on the box in 2 weeks for sure, I found the magic pill!!!"
    I just shook my head.
I should have invited him to a dose of burpees.

I have seen similar young lads in argos collecting EMS/TENS machines. Off home to electrocute their poor bellies.

Was in Argos one day actually, it was real busy, lots of people standing round the counter waiting on there stuff, the usual... Beside me was a tall skinny chap. Very thin like, and I'm no monster myself!

So, your one comes out and drops this box in front of him, one of those "Strap this belt on, plug it in and you'll look like Dolph Lundgren in no time!" dealys....

I guess he hadn't thought about what the box might look like, with pictures of all these ripped guys on it and words like 'Muscle', 'Power', 'Huge' etc - and him, about 9 stone soakin wet I'd say just staring sheepishly at it!

He looked like he wanted the ground to open up and swallow him, practically shoved the box under his jumper and was out of there like a hotsnot...

Me, I just looked away and said to myself... "Phew, glad that wasn't me!"

Friend of mine was in the Library at college, and he could here this consant kind of buzzing every so often, so he turns around to the, somewhat overweight girl behind him and says, 'jaysus, whats that noise?' and she replied 'Oh..... that would be me' And she revealed one of those tummy contractor yokes.. He was seriously embarrassed didn't what to say or where to look.. So kinda just said something like, 'I hear they're V.Good' and turned around! She stayed for about another 5 min and went scurrying out of the Library. Scarlet.
