General career path of a dietician

    For a dietician and specifically a graduate of BSc in human nutrition and dietitics at DIT whats the general career path and whats the general salary scale from salary once graduated and beyond?

    I think it qualifies you to be a clinical dietitican so persumably the salary scale would be in line with other health care professionals? I also think you may have to get chartered status before you can go into private practice so at least you would need to gain some experience. Again this is all hearsay but AFAIK historically after a course like that alot of people had to go to the UK to gain experience and then come back here to work, but this situation has improved. Your best bet is to phone up whoever runs the course and have a chat with them if its something you are interested in presuing.     There of course is also the possiblity of going into research afterwards too.
