    LOL!!

I'm a technical type of dude, but by god i find quite a few words i cant spell on the spot. Could be for many reasons but!

    Attentuation? ---- attenuation
    Neccesary? --- "necessary". AS quoted!

See without actually looking at your spelling. I got it wrong!!

    Silverfish: Humorous

St0n3d, what does the second word mean?

Spelling would be one of my stronger points but lodgement (or is it lodgment?) ditto judgement/judgment can stump me.

I used to spell "definitely" "definately" but have since corrected this.

Can't think of any word that I use that I can't spell. Obviously I wouldn't have a clue how to spell some medical terms but I don't use them so meh.

I used to think it was "seperate" for the adjective (as in "they led seperate lives") and "separate" for the verb (as in "they did not want to separate the twins") but according to a newspaper editor I know, a sub-editor with decades of experience, and a sports editor, it's "separate" for both.

    .

No, the correct spelling is 'humourous'.

Humorous is the US spelling, so if you're there I suppose it applies.

I'm getting nothing in my dictionary for humourous. No wonder you have trouble with it. Dudess is right.

Egypt. I always go to put the y before the g and then think, that doesn't look right.

I suggest that you stop using an american dictionary, then. ;)

Both are right; Regional variances apply. However, we are not in the US.

I'd be crucified in Spell Czechs if I were to use "color" or "favor". :)

"definitely" for me too. always spelt it wrong in different ways, now i just think, right "finite" is in it and that usually helps. OR i look at this website: http://www.d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y.com/ :D

I never use an American dictionary, paper or not. Just checked my Oxford Reference English Dictionary (paper version) and it's humorous. That's good enough for me, but I'd imagine both would be acceptable to many people.

We're not talking about color, favor, or humor. We're talking about colour, favour and humour. So it's not a valid parallel.

Interestingly, and perhaps confusingly, humourless, humourlessness, humourlessly, etc., are all correct.

Well the o can be dropped...

'Definitely' is related to 'finite'. Remember that and you won't spell it arseways.

I cannot spell those things that orbit the earth and pick up foreign TV channels.

I would vote for 'hypocrisy' as the worst spelled word on boards. That or per se.

'Humorous', like 'vigorous', is the only correct spelling. Using 'ou' twice in the space of five letters is vulgar and malodourous.

    I'm typing like Cork now.

Face it.. Anyone who texts on a regular basis is bound to become less intelligent. The speech part of the brain is reprogrammed with slang. :/

This applys for forums, games and just about everything online.. Think about in game with you LOL's and rofl's and bb - bye byes. Your pushing out all the real words imo :)
