I wonder will he be in Dublin tomorrow? Or will they have to make the announcement without him.....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 36,634 ✭✭✭✭Ruu_Old

He'll have the Irish players with slick back hair in no time. Look at those hand movements, magic. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,535 ✭✭✭Raekwon

He doesn't lack passion anyway. I'm actaully suprised that they went for Trapattoni because he is not the useal 'yes man' type that they are used to plus he is not going to take any guff from that muppet Delaney and the other morons at the FAI.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Probably without him. I'm sure they'll just be announcing that he's taking over from a certain date in May because he has to see his contract out at Salzburg.

The green jumper was clearly a come and get me plea.

And can we get someone in here to clarify he isnt just saying "Im the geaffor."

    G'wan the Trap!

So are we all happy with the Trap?? I am anyway. It should prove an interesting couple of years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭V9

The interviews won't be interesting til he gets down some English, but I can live with the mad arm throwing in Italian for the immediate future

After finding that press conference on Youtube, definitely! As a few of the lads have said, he wont lack passion and hopefully kick a few 'stars' up the árse.

This is much better. Taken from around the time Bayern Munich were originally dubbed FC Hollywood.

Bloody hell! It's gonna be, eh, interesting to see how Brady manages with the oul' translating! :D It's like watching a Hitler speech!

That link has been all over the newspapers in recent days. Speculation is the players have seen it at this stage and he is making them nervous. I would not like to be John O'Shea in his dressing room:D The Players were probrably looking forward to Venables turning it into a bigger holiday camp then it already is.

To all you lazy, overpaid, self centred, overrated, overconfident, underperforming, prideless, arrongant Irish players....

The papers were saying that he doesn't, but Brady speaks Italian, so it's likely he'll come in handy in that respect.

He speaks German though, if that's any use to ye :)

So does Gentile, who it looks like will also be involved

Off topic but Brady's Italian pronunciation is terrible for a guy that can speak it fluently and lived there for 7 years. Surely having spent a couple of years at Juventus he'd realise that the J is silent. :)

It'll be interesting to see if Brady gets the assistant's job. I read tonight that he won't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,820 ✭✭✭grames_bond

yeah the papers say that brady will be involved with the management team in some sort of capacity....he'll clearly be the translater!! i cant wait for trap to come and batter some of these primaddonas we call footballers, finally a manager that will help us and will probably get the full potential out of our talented players! ( i just pray he takes the captains armband off robbie "hamburgular" keane)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

and i thought the FAI and the managment had reason to be scared of keano during his time with the sqaud, they wont know what hit them if the team fails to perform now, i really hope they do have trapattoni and dont disapoint us tomoorow

    :D

I'd be happy to have Brady on board, he is the only current Irishman who has found any real success on the coaching side of things (bar maybe Roy Keane)

It would be hilarious (and also soul-destroying!) if they announced tomorrow that El Tel is the new manager :D Hey, he speaks English at least!

dont tempt fate, delaney did say that the irish public would be very excited by the anouncment, although all the signs do point towards trapatonni now, think the main one was the comments a few weeks ago of the FAI waiting till the summer if need be and trapatonni not being avaialable till then

Do ya' know what? What if this Trappatoni thing has just been put there to have us in a wild goose chase and then the FAIlures turn up with Jason McAteer?!?! Could you imagine how bad that would be!?!

    *thinks back to Stans appointment*
    Oh wait... yes I can.

I'd be happy with McAteer as long as Ruddock is his assistant and they both have to do after match interviews together!
