I don't know where else to put this.

Basically I need a new bed. The one I have is really creaky and old. I am sure I don't need to tell you all why I would prefer a quieter bed but let's just say the neighbours have tapped on the walls once or twice. Obviously I can't go into Bargaintown and bounce on the beds to find one that suits! Which ones are best? Argos have some with a metal frame, would they be better? The one I have right now is a basic wooden frame. What about the solid beds, some of them have drawers inside them.

This is a serious thread, I don't know where else to put it!!! I'm really embarrassed asking this, I usually ask my mother about buying furniture but obviously I can't this time!

all you need to do is put talcum powder on the joints, it will stop it from creaking

The bottom part of the bed is called a divan. The bit on top is a mattress and you can buy them seperately if you like.

Silentnight beds are great. They're pricey, but think about how many hours you spend in a bed over 10 years or so.

Argos sell them, as do Arnotts.

I have a Malm bed from Ikea for the last 3 years. Its really comfortable and I've never had a bother with squeakiness (the mattress is laid on sprung slatted bed base) they're also quite cheap and also stylish looking. Bargaintown is rotten horrible stuff. I wouldnt buy anything there.
