Has all trace of Dunkin Donuts been removed from Ireland?
I remember most of their shops shut down but some Cafés used to keep a Dunkin Donuts stand.
I love to get my hands on a few of their Double Chocolate donuts.
Is there anywhere left in Ireland where you can get them?

nine one one in UCD is the only remaining one. Its not called dunkin donuts but they are the exact same.
there used to be a few Nine one ones in petrol stations - texaco possibly, but I don't know if they still do.
What kind of donuts do they do in Esso On The Run? Cos I think they might be similar too.

I remember their shop in Ballyfermot, mid 90s maybe? I don't think it lasted very long.

I just noticed that the online Golden Pages still has their shops listed! Grafton Street, The Swan Centre in Rathmines, The Square and Ballyfermot are all there.

The tim hortons here are rotten compared to what they are in canada (and some parts of the north east of america)

If your over there do yourself a favour and get some, even if you dont particularly like donoughts

Not in the 3 Tescos I've tried. (My mum still thinks I like them and buys them for me so I have to eat them.) Although I might pop down to tesco in Galway seeing as you said they're fresh there. (Although maybe not, it'd be easier to go to M&S for one!)

    They still have them?

Nothing will beat Krispie Kreme! We need them in Ireland!

Krispie Kreme were meant to roll out in a number of locations including Ireland, I guess that didn't happen yet. I live in the US and don't think Dunkin' Donuts are all that tasty, prefer some from the local bakery.

My god, if there was Cinnabon's on this side of the world, I'd be the size of a house! Starbucks cinnamon swirls are bad enough!

Is that Wendy's still over in the garage near ballyfermot (cherry orchard, i think???) please say yes, please say yes...

....anytime in London...on the way from Victoria to Gatwick....or Paddington to Heathrow....I stock up in the rail stations !!. They usually have deals for 12...or 24...and they come in a box which are handy to carry on the flights. Almost worth a trip in themselves !!!.

Strange how they haven't made it here...as the outlets in Victoria etc are really small...

    K

Well the one I work in they arrive in boxes and are kept in a chiller, that's probably why they're not fresh.

Wendy's? As in US fast food chain Wendy's??? Or something else?
I know there was a Whimpy there once

In my local (yay!) Krispy Kreme they give you a free piping hot glazed donut straight off the Willy Wonka style conveyor belt behind the counter while you queue. I've never tried heroin but I'm guessing it must be similar and the donuts are cheaper and you get a good discount for a double dozen.

Wendy's is the one with the square patties. I think there's a Wendy's in Cork.

I just bought a Tim Horton jam donut a few days back, compared to the standard cuisine de france ones they're deadly, fresh and the jam is actually pretty good. Is there any other good places for donuts in the city centre?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

My mother bought me a Tim Hortan's doughnut today (despite me telling her I don't like them!) and I was surprised at how fresh it was. I still nuked it in the microwave though.

Can't beat an oul Boston Creme... *drools*

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭star-pants

I'd love the double choc from Dunkin'Donuts, I remember the one in Tallaght as my friend lived out that way and we'd always go in for one.. *Drool*

Though in Boston - I started getting these things which I like to call scuffins (oddly enough they are called that in Oz) because they're a cross between a scone and a muffin.... I'd get a cinnamin one and my friend would get the blueberry one...mmm

BTW Tim Hortons were nice when they first came out because they were fresh. They now freeze them - the lady in Tescos told my mother this before, she said 'oh they're not ready yet, just defrosting'.... so THAT's why they taste gack now. Frozen and ones left over from the day before..

They were always frozen. They come that way.

Dosen't happen. All reduced and then chucked out at the end of the day.

I mean like they're not baked properly, one of the Spars used to do it
