Not sure how long that low interest rate lasts for, but after a few months i noticed my click visa APR is back to double digits.

So the interest rate doesn't stay the same? Are you sure that yours is now in double digits? Surely there is not point in transferring to click if it is for all intents and purposes just an introductory offer even though they claim it is?

Afraid you're mistaken here. It definitely is 8.5% at the moment and not an introductory rate.

If you are on a higher rate, then you're not on the click or there is a problem with your account (are you in arrears etc?)

    Hi guys,

Not in arrears thankfully. I looked through all my old statements there and it turns out I was talking complete bollox. I must have gotten my wires crossed somewhere.

So in summary, the Click Visa rate is actually good and long may it live! *raises glass*

Credit limits depend on the individual and their circumstances :)

Got a click about 6 months back... cleared my old AIB one and got the new one in the post a couple of days later... Just beware.... I bought something in the first week of having the card but somehow forgot to pay something off in the first 30 days ... the feckers put a hold on my card.... was a pain until I figured out what happened... maybe thats standard with all new cards but it confused me...! Just a heads up... since then everythings rosey...!

One thing is with the Click card that you dont get any credit card statements in the post - they are done online so be careful and remember to always check for a new statement or you'll miss when it has to be paid!

I'm thinking of applying for a Visa Click from AIB and came across this thread during a search. As this thread is 3 years old I just wondered is the Visa Click still the preferred Credit Card from AIB ?

Seems to be the lowest interest rate anyway.

Thinking about getting one too; I see the APR has jumped up a bit since '08/'09..!
Would that kind of increase over a few years be generally expected, or would this jump have something to do with the banking/economic issues over the last few years (or both)?

The interest rate is 9.11%. APR's on a Credit Card can be misleading, as APR calculations assume that the drawdown of the credit is immeidate and the subsequent repayments are as if it was a standard 12 month loan with equal monthly repayments. Likewise, the government stamp duty is also included in an APR.

APR's are just used for comparisons and were introduced for credit cards in a big way with the ECCD (which itself was just a whole load of bureaucratic BS, for the most part!). The interest you pay can be a lot less/more, depending on how you use the card. If you use it responsibly, you have an effective rate of 0%!
