    Hi All,

Well back to college this week so my post gym meal of chicken pasta/rice and veg is kinda gone to shot ( I work full time)

Any ideas on a cold dish I could prepare so I could eat in College, preferably one that doesnt taste like monkey spunk.

I would like chicken with veg and pasta and some nice sauce, would rather advice than expermenting as I am not the greatest cook.

    Thanks in advance.

Even if it did taste like Monkey spunk how would you know

I just pre cook chicken, put lettuce peppers onions and some olive oil in a tub.. Tastes pretty nice and couldnt be easier to make.

I know this doesnt include chicken or vegetables but I have always been a fan of Tuna, Pasta and Mayo. Plenty of energy and tastes fine (to me anyway)...

You could also try chicken, brocolli, chilli (if you like spicy food) and bring some soy sauce with you in a container. It will be nicer to add before you eat as opposed to it being on the food for hours beforehand. Its a bit drier than using a full blown sauce but could be an option. You could throw in some pine nuts too if you wish. That combo is always good, hot or cold.

Im a brocolli head so heres another one. Try chicken, brocolli, vine tomatoes and red onions with some mayo mixed in. Kinda like a pasta salad then and the juicy tomatoes will reduce the dryness.

As regards sauces, get some tins of tomatoes, whack them in the pan with some finely chopped onions, garlic and chilli to your taste and thats a nice basic quick sauce for a learning chef.

Alternatively, use onions, garlic etc... with cream and white wine in the pan, different colour sauce, different flavour...

    Hope that helps...

I quite like pesto. It might a bit expensive to buy the bottled ones. You can make your own if you have the time.
