Hi all,

KamiKazi is once again organising a "Boards.ie Call of Duty 4 Bash" on his server tonight (Monday 28th January and hopefully every Monday after that) from 8:00pm onwards.

If you want to play, here are the details:

When: Every Monday from 8:00pm
Server IP: 91.186.3.152:28962
Gametypes: S&D, HQ, TDM and Sabotage

You are all welcome! The more the merrier!

By the by I know that friday got the most votes, I have a server that we could use for a boards bash on fridays, Although maybe people just want to do this once a week ??


Also has there been any thoughts of using PAM 4 ?? It might be something different for people to try.

My server also has PAM 4 on it. Definitely to be considered as "some people" (i.e. ME!) find Juggernaut and Martyrdom and Last Stand etc, etc very frustrating!!!

Christophicus: is your server running in Hardcore mode?

Yeah I would be one of those people I have to say.

No not at the moment, but that can easily be changed if the majority want hardcore. I will start a thread in a few mins about Friday boards bash so we can try and get everything sorted, as in what games modes / maps / settings etc people want to play.

I was asking because I'm not a big fan of Hardcore... Let's do "Hardcore Mondays" on KamiKazi's server and "High Skill Fridays" on your server!

OK that might be a good idea, we will do that so, unless loads more people still want hardcore even though Kami is already catering for hardcore.

I normally use xfire to find servers since the native browser is crap.

How do I enter the server IP (91.186.24.187:28962)
Is through xfire or from the console, if console what is the command?

yeh sound ill pop on for a while, havent played cod4 in about 3 weeks, wow has me hooked totally again. what gametype? put it on hardcore deffo, tdm is probably best. gonna password it?

And if there's a password, you don't need to enter two separate commands! Not a lot of people know that apparently...

The command is:

Good point... Never thought about TeamSpeak... I have a 10-slot (or is it 11?) TS Server if KamiKazi can't accomodate and enough people are interested. Let me know!

Furthermore, I think we should password-protect the server to make it boards.ie only Kami. What do you think?

As for having PAM4 on the server, doubt it will be wanted by the majority but if it is it only takes a few minutes to install.

It was good playing with you guys ( even if I was getting owned alot of the time ), its a shame you guys did not stay around longer. The server was down to 3 people @ 10.15

I enjoyed tonight immensely! I think I would have had more fun had the server not been in Hardcore mode (I really don't like it at all). And I found S&D much too short (First to 3 or 4 I think it was? Only lasted 10 minutes tops!).

Apart from that, it was great playing with you guys!

Thanks again KamiKazi! Can't wait to play on Friday night with Hardcore off!

Yeah it was good, although S&D was too short, I think our server is set up for first to 4, I may increase this though .

Twas a good larf. Thanks for the use of the server kami.
I'd echo the sentiments about the score limit on search and destroy.
Also I think anything above 1 on sabotage can result in hugely long games and did after you left. I know this gives the potential for very short games but it's worth the risk.
And the whole lack of uav, airstrike at 3, heli at 5 was weird but you're aware of that.
Also 10 second respawn on team deathmatch seems a bit harsh.
I agree with Steff that it should be hardcore off for this kind of thing and also maybe a little more team deathmatch/head quarters instead of the games that rely heavily on very co-operative team play.
Anyway, see you guys next week hopefully,

I only dropped in for a small while as COD4 is really taking off within the clan and there was a good game going on our own server . I too would not be a fan of hardcore .

Good game though I'm lacking in the team games at the minute. Need some more practice in s&d etc. Still enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one.

Considering it was only the first "properly organised" CoD4 bash, I think it was a success!

However I think it would be great if the following was implemented for the next bash:

- Password-protect the server to keep it exclusive to boards.ie (but if only a few people connect we'll be bored... :cool:)
- Make TDM Respawning faster (2 seconds? 3 seconds?) as 10 seconds is too long
- Make S&D longer by making it "first to reach 10"
- Airstrike @ 3 frags and Helicopter @ 5 frags were simply too get and made some games unplayable IMO. The standard Airstrike @ 6 frags and Helicopter @ 7 frags should be used I think...

What do you think of the above suggestions? Do you have anything to add to this list?

You played very good Dingatron! In fact I thought the level of skill wasn't bad at all! A lot of fun anyway!

I have to admit that my favourite moment was slicing KamiKazi open! Then he left the server like a pussy... "I had to go to a clan training" he says... Pfff! Pussy!

What on earth do you have for breakfast man.
I watched some of the your killcam replays and it seems that you can see through walls!!!
You simply turn a corner, shoot through a solid wall and bingo I'm dead.
Just how do you do it without even seeing me..... any tips?

I enjoyed it,i only popped on for 2 maps or so but was fun.
First time in 6 weeks to play cod4 on pc
Wasnt on for S&D ,thank god,its a poor mans cs tbh.

As I said I just missed these while setting the server up as it only came online at 7.45 so only had 15 minutes to do it, but I'm sorting them now.
