I just joined a gym last week.
I i intend on going 3 times a week. mainly weights to put on some muscle mass.

Ive done two sessions sofar with a day in between but i was still sore from the first session when doing the second and im still sore now so i took today off.

Should i wait till im fully recovered or keep to the 3 days a week regardless?

try to work different areas of the body each day so each zone has time to recover... i.e chest + shoulders monday, abs and legs wednesday, and arms and back friday...

yeah, its a really REALLY bad idea to work on areas that are recovering! If you've done biceps and triceps then leave them for around 4 days. Like,do cardio one day, arms another, legs and back another etc. dont rework the same areas like.its also really important not to over work certain areas if you want to get bigger. You can actually get smaller by overworking certain muscles.

If you've just joined a gym I'll presume your body is unaccustomed to exercise and you over exerted yourself the first time.

Can you post your routine for critique?

    What are you aims?

It's just your body adjusting to a new routine. Withing the next 2-3 weeks you won't even notice it. Stop using excuses:D
