Before i start i know nothing on the subject so excuse my ignorance in advance.

Anyway, ive been training about 6/7 times a week for the last 3 months for rowing and have been finding im loosing weight (which i cant really afford to loose) regardless of how much i eat which is quite a lot!

im looking for something light(safe) enough to take which will help me build muscle and help my recovery.
    any advice would be appreciated

i also know nothing on the subject but your obviously burning more than eating.
7 times a week is alot.

the type of workouts your doing probably have something to do with it aswell.

I don't do weights at all anymore tbh, did them about 3 times a week before for a few months and found creatine monohydrate to be the business, makes a real difference

    Where's the protein dude?

Read the stickies, they'll give you an idea of what you should aim for. No worries if you don't get it bang on but every step in the right direction helps

I know it sounds like a lot, but it's not. For example, here is what i have eaten so far today

08:00 porridge and an omlette ( 2 whole eggs, 3 whites, tomatoes and mushrooms )
    10:00 tuna and pineapple
    12:00 beef ( about 10 oz ) , lots of veg...and i mean oddles
    14:30 more tuna and pineapple
3 mins from now - brown rice and chicken and veg
17:00 - a protein shake ( don't like hitting the gym with food in my belly! )
    19:00 - tuna and pineapple
20:30 - chicken, mixed veg and some small spuds
23:00 - whey and cottage cheese shake

You need to genuinely eat a lot dude....the above is me "dieting".

What you;ll be looking for is some kind of mass gainer, something with a good mix of protein and carbs. Me, i like Mass X by Nutrition X and Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition.

I can happily say that since i pretty much stopped taking supplements altogether and just made myself eat more wholefoods i hold muscle a lot better when dieting, and gain strength and size a lot better when not.
