This is a piece of equipment that is being recommended to Gaa clubs at the moment with pre season training about to start.

    http://www.teamhop.com/fitframe-products.htm#home

has anyone here used this and if they have could they provide some feedback please. I think that some of the Rugby lads on this board might have experience with it. Theres also a version suitable for home use so it might be of interest to some here

I just want to point out that I have no connection with this equipment and am not advertising this. I just want to see if its good kit as the club im with is considering purchase

Looks useful, just depends on the price they are asking, I can't find any prices on the site so I am presuming it is expensive if they want to hide the fact.

yes i dont have a price for it myself. im goin to call them tomorrow. i cant imagine them selling many if prices are high considering that theres a lot of gym equipment for sale these days at low prices. it looks like it could be useful alright.

If you do find the price a little too high a similar device is easy enough to make and much cheaper to construct with plastic tubing, wooden dowls and some joiners. I built something like that a few years back when doing SAQ drills with my clients. Could dismantel the whole thing and chuck it in a bag when I was done so if was pretty portable too.

They have one in Thomas Davis GAA Club in Tallaght Mate if you're near there and wanted a look at one. If you know anyone from that club as well you may be able to find out the price.

Paul Copeland, the St Jude's goalkeeper is involved in the company that sells them if I remember correct.

For what it's worth - as someone else said, they look fairly simple and straight-fiorward to build yourself.

Maybe if you had a couple of lads at your club who handy with the tools (Ooooh Matron! etc) you might be able to knock one together yourselves... all depends on the price I suppose...

And if you have a sturdy goal post already there it can be put to use. Here are some ideas

Remember seeing them before, not too sure if many of the senior rugby clubs using them to be honest. I'd imagine they'd be useful for pre-season training for large numbers of people. I'd doubt they'd be of much use in-season though.

Use the Fitframe properly and as an individual you will

Reduce body fat (5%+ in 1 month)
    Reduce injuries
    Increase explosive strength
    Increase relative strength
    Increase lean muscle mass
    Develop local muscular endurance

While as a team / group you will

    Develop team / group cohesion
    Increase competitiveness
    Develop communication
    Increase team morale
    Improve on pitch performance

How exactly does the Fitframe help a team develop communication and increase team morale? I would have thought that was the role of a coach

I think its because you workout so close together (in the Fitframe) you as a result bond and will be willing to die for one another, kind of in a Shackleton/Scott antartic way:D

I saw the ad for this on Setanta and I wouldn't fancy doing a dip with some guys sweating ass dangling in my face from the chinups he is doing over your head, wouldn't do much for my morale and could lead to communication issues. All looks a bit cosy for my liking.

Indeed. There's bonding and then there's bonding. :D

My club got the Fitframe recently and the difference that it has made is huge, it did take a bit of time to get used to but it makes a lot of sense. The club had been looking at making something like it before we saw it in a local school but it would be almost impossible to make it with all the grips, hurdles, stainless steel, etc., at the price that it is being sold at. It is fairly cool !!
