Games with the hardest Achievements

Just looking through my game list and achievement points. I completed Blue Dragon (many moons ago). Probably spent 40+ hours on it and all I have to show for it is 30 achievement points:eek: I mean if you finish the game you should at least get a couple of hundred. The same with Eternal Sonata (120) and Perfect Dark Zero (95).

Anybody else come across any other unforgiving achievement list?

Guitar Hero 3. I've finished easy and medium, and I'm 8 songs from the end of hard.
I've looked at the list of achievements in GH3, and some are ridiculous.

I have just finished Medium on Guitar Hero 2, and I have more achievement points in that so far.

FEAR. I got 40 lousy points for completing the game.

I could have got ten or twenty more if I hadn't changed the difficulty level to easy by accident.

Still less than 100 for completing a game is a rip off.

Mind you it's easy to make up points on single player games like Bioshock.

Id have to say Guitar Hero aswell. I hate really easy or really hard achievements and rather fun ones like Burnout Paradise and Crackdown.

call of duty 4 mile high club on veteran! its the last 20g i need but i dont think il ever get it :(

Some of the achievements in Burnout Revenge are evil, especially getting perfect in all events (damn burning laps make that seem almost impossible to me)
Burnout Paradise seems great in comparison (I'm playing the PS3 version, but that seems to have a list of similar rewards.) I've got 25/60 of them so far and I've barely been trying...

Stick with it, and switch to the shotgun (the first, not in the toilet, has it).

The Guitar Hero 3 achievements are hard, and pretty dumb tbh. Playing the career on Hard with a standard controller? Hard, and stupid.

but to do it would be an "achievement", no?

Some of the multiplayer achievements in gears of war are pretty big.Would prob take you a couple of years to get some of them

Dead or Alive 4, 50/75/100 wins in about 4 different game modes. Some luck of the draw online achievments too.

Guitar hero 3 is looking pretty hard too.

not really, theonly hard one is "seriously" and that just involves playing a lot of ranked matches.

id say the one where you have to get a 1 million career score is harder

No,finishing ttfatf on expert earns you the inhuman achievement.

well sorry its 100 million you have to Earn 100,000,000 points total in Career.its called 100 Million!?! Gulp!?!

Umm,are you sure you have the right game?
Since when did you earn points in gears of war?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,285 ✭✭✭Smellyirishman

He's talking about GH3, you're talking about GoW.
While MHC in COD4 is hard, that's about the only challenging achivement and even then it's not overly difficulty.

I agree with DOA4, although I didn't play much of it anyway.

GH3 isn't great either. Completed all but one song on Hard and I've only got 200pts (done some other achievments too).

Oblivion, got 1000 points but it took 130+ hours !!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭A-Trak

F.E.A.R. has the stingiest achievements ever.
Some of them are ridiculously hard, there's very little motivation to go for them.

This achievement though needs little motivation:)
Again may be impossible to unlock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

most of you are missing the point of this thread. just because a game requires 10000 kills before you get an achievement does not make it hard to get. its just playing the game normally.

or finishing oblivion and doing the guilds is not hard, not at all, it just takes some time.

finishing through the fire and the flames on expert in GH3 is hard. finishing call of duty 4 on the hardest setting, that is hard.

The trick to this is to use just 1 bullet to hit each target. You get seconds taken off for being accurate.

Bought a car from a dealer in the UK. When I went to collect the car he had already sent the V5 off to the DVLA instead of giving it to me. Rang the DVLA when I got back, told me to send them a V756 form and that it could take up to 8 weeks to sort out. Rang the dealer, said not to send any forms and leave it with him. V5 arrived in the post 3 days later

that avatar game clearly getting a reantal :P

    thats ridiculous

i find some games are just annoying

achievements shouldnt be so much " put your whole gaming life into our game"

    GH3 is ridiculous

    fear was insane

virtua tennis 3 even has some harash points that take tme

most achievements that are tough are tough because they take so much time....

and i think thats why people get bored.

cod4 was on the right track, points for doing the game, not spending overtime on it, but getting points for your normal playthrough.

developers think that we only play their game???

and since points do nothing anyway except say how big my e-cock is, i think they need to focus it on single player and jsut finishing the game

Want some easy points? Play Fight Night 3. Won 4 big fights in career mode and got about 750 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 538 ✭✭✭Maddzy

To get 1000 in Final Fantasy XI is a bit silly. Getting a job class to lv 75 only gets you 30 points and theres about 18 of them, then do every mission in the game + expansion packs. Would take forever.

A lot of people get so hung up on points its funny! I'll never go out of my way to get as many as possible. If I can do them suring a game and its fun or a bit of a challenge I'll go for it like but when it comes to insane ones like GH or fear I'll stay well away. It gets like an addiction for some people. lol
A guy I know refuses to play original xbox games or PS/GC/WII games just because he won't be getting any achievements for it.

    No competition here, none.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. They are, quite frankly, retarded. If anybody is familiar with the sham of a game that it is, they'll know what I mean.

I can't stop until a get just one, and that is killing me, but I can't have 0 Gamerscore beside a game on my tag.

Feel free to pwn me for being a total n00b,but do achievement points count for anything?

As far as I can tell the level of my achievement points is inversely related tot he likelihood that I have a girlfriend.

Lol, no they don't cont for anything. I think they serve as a substitute for hi-scores etc. Back in the day it was all about getting the highest score. This has disappeared over the last 10-15 years or so. Achievements has gone some way to bring this back.

Maybe it only appeals to older gamers that grew up with scores etc., I don't know.

haha yeah, i have 0 GS for that game. not only because the acheivements suck, but because the game is so crap i cant be bothered going back to it.

Yeah, I've thought that achievement point don't bother me at all and I do find my self keeping an eye on them, and even buying the odd game on the 360 over the PS3 just for gamer points, I think its a great marketing stradagy by M$. I think its worked a lot better than they even planned.

Dead rising has some very hard achievements.
Ones like Saint and Transmissionary I am never going to even attempt, because the survior AI is, for want of a better word, retarded.
I've gotten some real time consuming ones out like Max Level, Zombie Genocider, and Karate Champ and I still have only 580/1000 points. Just over 50%
Gonna try for the infinity mode ones and leave the game at that.

Yeah there's a lot of them that are bent, no fun in trying to get them at all more got to do with how much free time you have to play as opposed to how good you are at the game.

I remember playin tiger woods 06. Only 200 points if you can achieve #1 ranking in any online game mode.

COD 4, i think the single player acheivements are pretty good, (20 pts per level), i'm a bit surprised that there are no points to be had on the online games.....
