Hi togster here.

I got site banned last night for sending luckystar a PM laughing at the fact that she had been banned from equestrian. I would like to apologise to her for this pm.It went along the lines of "hahahahahaha" "lalalalala" complete spastic behaviour. I would also like to thank all you guys there for a great year in the world of boards and its been a blast. So upon deep reflection i realise i have been a complete tard many times but in particular this time.

I hope so too. Just to reiterate. I am sorry in particular to Luckystar. Rubbing her ban in her face was childish. You should never post when you're loaded. Well i shouldn't anyway.

Although that is not an excuse. Yesterday this whole thing went off because of a post i made in th equestrain forum, it then escalated via pm. And last night i spazzed out and sent her a stupid pm.

These are site-bannable offences?

Laughing at someone's misfortune is simple bad manners and hardly a site-bannable offence. Next sarcasm will be site-bannable, then calling someone "far too glib and oily". After a while boards will just be plain vanilla.

Meanwhile, some cmods go around calling people "slow".

I got site banned from a forum after 2 years and 11,000 posts because i quote

"This is a tec forum and you seem to have created somwhat of a cult following which distracts from the forum objective"

I think the last straw was the 20,000 thread views and 24 pages of replies on a "get well soon snyper" when i was in hospital a couple of months back

So, yes i do understand that when one gets used to a forum they can get very attached like i was, you make friends and get into a habit...

.. going cold turkey is hard.

I find the searching for "goatse" on the internet a decent alternative.

No, I said if he re-regged solely so that he could send a PM to the Admins it might be acceptable, as opposed to posting in public and thereby flaunting one of the basic rules of Boards.

In fairness, Hagar, he has only posted in Feedback, has not attempted to deceive, has made his apology, has not gone on a fight-teh-powah rampage, has not even asked to be re-admitted (tho' I have no doubt he's hoping that his sentence might be lightened! )

I would personally see that as sticking (just!) within the spirit of the law, if not the letter ...

And I agree with Terry that togster has improved ... he's grand most of the time, just loses the head from time to time, and when he does ... :rolleyes:

I vaguely remember trawling through back ancient threads here one day when I was bored and reading a comment from an Admin given his reason for re-admitting someone who had a fairly long history of being site-banned / re-registering under a different nick. It went something like: "XXX is that unusual thing ... a muppet who isn't actually aware he's a muppet!"

Can't remember who the Admin or the boardsie (who is still here) were* ... >_>

Personally, I think that comment could also apply to togster to a certain extent, and he has improved.

For what it's worth (i.e. sweet FA! ) I'd agree with Terry / Karl / crash / Ruggie ...
