I know that certain people from glasnevin r going to post answers here..... but i'll put up with that as long as i get some helpful info from other people.....:)

Hmm, is it really bad that I'm contemplating how easy it would be to make one of your own out of a few black plastic bags and a J cylinder of O2?

I'm off to write 'I must not treat explosive gases in a cavalier manner' 1000 times.

This probably qualifies as your unhelpful post from Glasnevin, so Barry can relax...

I was working in a hospital once where an immobile patient (old man) on a chest ward burnt his face when he tried to have a sneaky smoke under the duvet:eek:. Appartently it was the oxygen tubes going into his nose that did the trick.

It's a myth. Oxygen is not explosive in itself and it's not flammable, but it is required to 'feed' a fire. The reason that patient burt his face is because things which normally do not ignite easily can become highly flammable, such as the duvet, hair, clothing etc. But, I can assure you, oxygen is neither explosive nor flammable, some form of fuel is required for that.

oxygen if kept in isolation will not explode when exposed to a flame BUT pure oxygen will cause a fuel to combust explosively were it otherwise wouldnt

Paddy you can get a tent for €20 in Army Bargains but to be honest mate you're too old to go to Oxygen.

Unless you're looking to score some drunk teenagers in which case make it a 2 man tent and I'll come down with ya!

With regards to exploding oxygen please take it to a more relevant board.

The simple fact is that anyone who blows themselves up through any means is merely following the whole Darwinism thing.
