I'd be interested in this myself. Don't really have anywhere to shoot at home. Would be nice if there was somewhere local to town that I could just drop in after college during the week for a few shots.

Remember AI had a shooting system advertised where the targets are projected onto a metal "screen" and shots are registered by sensors in the screen. Only a small area is needed. Could work very well in conjunction with a shop.

Like that. Can also use targets amd moving targets ect.

When i want to shoot in my house I just open my bedroom window, and line targets at the far end of the garden and place a net behind them so no bb`s are found all over the place.

i have a mini range in my attic! don't laugh, it works, and with no interruptions or nosey neighbours it works the finest. My son, and a good friend of mine use it when we get the chance using everything from g17, p226 to m4, great crack except when we haveto sweep for bb's:(

Need to find the perfect bb' trap and stop those little bighter's from fly all over the place!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 70 ✭✭lil dave

well it would be in balbrigan mite be a problem for some.......

I think you need a long open space cardboard targets at end and "windows" for people to shoot like a driving range. Charge 20 to join and 10 a week. Seems fair. rent would probabely be 10-20k a year though so that'd be hard to cover.

A garage would work great too ;)

Ooooohhhh for a garage!!! my mate and myself on constantly on the look for a suitable location/garage/room/shed/large box to do a bit, without somebody thinking that we should know better at our age then to be running round the place like lunny's but hey, it's a bit of fun,:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,170 ✭✭✭✭ED E

Again, don't laugh, another mate of mine suggested a water dispenser! you know the ones from a water cooler. when it's empty cut a sq, hole in the side(bout the size of a target 9) tape some cushion/paper/in there at the back, be careful that plastic can cut ya! and blap away!! catches most of em depending on the range..worth a shot!! eh

I shoot in my hall but it's not nearly long enough. Take a cardboard cereal box and put a tea towel inside of it. Catches about 99% of the bbs.

Unfortunately tonight, I decided not to take the cereal out of the box. (Thought for some reason the plastic inside would be bb proof).

Result: Crunchy nut that can break teeth. God damn. Was only a new box too.

plenty of roughage in your diet then..that'll clear you out in the mornings!!;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 163 ✭✭theburi

I will go for a 5 per visit 2-3 hours.

    Somewhere southside, centre.
Shooting range can easly be a small cqb. It may double up and attract more people.

get a big box, put a sheet of foam on the inside, clip a target to the outside

and fire, bb's just hit foam and stay in box and can then just be put in to bin!

this is a cool idea but might be an idea to give an option of paying on the day as opposed to a membership

on a similar note, i was shooting in my room but there was an accident with an lcd so its mainly outside from now on

A indoor place would be great for a bit of Pistol Work too.

On wet days I've fired at the towels on the washing line. They catch the
BB's pretty well. (on frosty days thats extra fun) Got a natural wall at the end of my
garden where I set up clays from clay pigeon shooting or plastic flower pots.
I only shoot in the garden when no neighbours are about. (Both sides of me are
gone away most of the time)
