How(and who) was Odysseus identified on his return to Ithaca?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

He was identified by his boss as he was wearing a namebadge!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,018 ✭✭✭legspin

His old wet nurse recognised a scar on his leg. Can't think of her name off-hand. (I read this on Wiki some time ago for another quiz)

He was one of only two people who lived in the village of Ithaca and upon his return to the village the only other resident of the village couldn't help noticing his return to the village and presumed him to be the other occupant of the village other than himself and realisng that he was indeed the other resident and not his own sad reflection or some stranger who had got lost and needed directions deduced that it must indeed be Odysseus. Although scholars of all things ancient are mostly in agreement as to this non-verifiable fact, no-one has yet identified the other resident of the village but the general consensus is that he/ she/ it definitely was not Yore Ma!
