I'm heading off to foreign climes training soon (Thailand). I know some of you have definitely traveled with whey in tow before. Ever had any trouble? I'm mildly concerned that I'll get a cavity search if I carry a tub of powder anywhere near an airplane.

Whey is a touchy subject in Thailand anyway.....as far as i am aware it's not actually legal over there.

    Roids are though.

    Strangely.

Khannie you can get anything in Thailand and cheaper, so don't bother bringing stuff over. Like Dragan said you can walk into a chemist and get some nandralone if you're flagging anyway! LOL

WHAT???? Are you joking? If you are, I'm gonna feel like a twat.

    I'm off to google.

Couldn't find anything negative about whey in Thailand. Googling for "whey thailand" gives this thread number 5 on the google charts.

On buying it over there: I just wanna hit the ground and head for my camp. The hassle of having to find somewhere that sells whey isn't worth the few quid I'd save. It was just the notion of carrying powder on a plane that I was slightly concerned about (see glove image).

edit: Found a thread talking about prices of whey over there, so surely it's not that much of an issue.

truthfully given that you are going to Thailand I wouldn't chance it, given that they still do have the death penalty for drug smuggling and the lack of english that customs will probably have i'd give it a veryyyyyy wide berth

Could you not just say "its dried milk powder?"..hardly the same as smuggling a bag o heroin.

I'm not sure how to say "it's dried milk powder" in Thai. ;)

Honestly, I know there's nothing wrong with it, but airports are fecking ridiculous places these days.

I'm only back yesterday from Thailand. If ( like me ) you would like to err on the side of caution ( I didn't even bring my multivitamins ) then bring nothing and just get it over there.

There are loads of pharmacies ( boots ) and nutrition shops ( gnc ) in Thailand and they all sell supplements for fitness including whey, although I found them to be pricey, compared with here.

"shakes on a plane" would have been a better title

As said above, Whey is readily available in most Chemists and nutrition shops. Where are you actually training? If the camp is in the like of Bangkok, Samui etc... you should find a shop within a few minutes. If the camp is one of the islands it may be a little more difficult. Id assume you are staying for one night in Bangkok so just grab some in the boots off thr Koh San road
