Rolls for lunch

I normally get these par-baked rolls ("8" minutes in the oven in the morning) and use them for lunch. It means they're nice and fresh and I don't have to nip out at lunchtime. But since I made the change to brown bread, I'm having difficulty finding par-baked brown rolls. They sell half-sized rolls in Dunnes but they're fairly minging. If I buy the normal white rolls and just scoop out most of the dough (I don't particularly like it that much, I prefer the crispy outside) am I just foolin' myself? I've considered wraps, etc but I've never been too enamoured with them.
