Need 9V 1500mA DC Transformer

Can anyone suggest where i could find the above, at a price that wont break the bank? This was used to power a portable DVD player, but cable got snapped off right at the edge of the sealed transformer and was beyond repair! Is it possible to "un-seal" it, possibly with a mini hacksaw etc...? I've been known in the past for taking desperate measures as the only solution.

Alternatively, wouldn't the manufacturer have spares?
